My name is Derrick Makins Sr. I prefer to be called Derrick I was born in Miami, Florida the second boy out of three. Growing up in a large family with many cousins we all gather at the same location every weekend Grandma house. Graduated high school in 1989 from Miami Carol City, Chief Pride. Found the love of my life at the age of 26 years old married going on 22 years with my wife and we have a total of six children. We enjoy going to Church on Sundays and going on mini vacations. We enjoy experiencing new tastes from different restaurants, playing basketball, and watching sports. My wife and I are home team sports fans, such as Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, Florida Marlins, and I love deep sea fishing.
My career is mainly in the sales industry I enjoy offering a service or product that will meet an individual need. I have experienced good success in vehicles sales and management, which I did for five years. I worked as a mortgage broker and broker manager for 9 years. Finally, I have worked with my family business for the past 11 years and love the ability to assist people with tax services. That is why I am now pursuing an Accounting degree to continue my family business as tax preparation and accountant firm. I will achieve my CPA (Certified Public Accountant) license and further my education.
