Bruce Sowers

Dr. Sowers serves as the Associate Vice President for Online Learning and Instructional Design at Rosalind Franklin University for Medicine and Science. Bruce has been involved with the development of over 800 online courses across several disciplines and modalities within the higher education, K-12, and corporate environments. Previously, Dr. Sowers served as Assistant Director for Instructional Design and Technology for the Integrated Learning Institute at Ball State University. During his tenure there, Bruce established instructional design processes for course development, implemented standards for course quality, and was responsible for leading innovation in course design. He was also the Quality Matters (QM) Institutional Representative for Ball State University, and responsible for faculty professional development in the areas of instructional design, online teaching, and workforce development. Bruce holds a MA in Information Technology, and a PhD in Computing Technology in Education, as well an, Educational Specialist degree (EdS). Dr. Sowers has served in several faculty roles, including teaching for the Miller College of Business at Ball State University and the School of Business and Economics at Indiana University East. He has also taught graduate courses in Strategic Planning for Information Technology for the Center of Information and Communication Sciences at Ball State University. Bruce facilitates the development of and delivery of professional development courses for instructional designers, including Learning Theories, Introduction to Instructional Design, Assessment and Measurement, Instructional Design Systems, and Online Program Administration. Jolee A. Rosenkranz is an Instructor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Executive Director of Service Learning at the College of Pharmacy at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois. She is the Associate Dean for External Relations for the College. She obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Applied Social Science from the School of Education and Human Development at Binghamton University in 1999 and a Masters of Public Health from the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University in 2002. Ms. Rosenkranz has been a member of the College's administrative leadership team since its inception. Lauren B. Angelo, PharmD, MBA is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and an Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science College of Pharmacy. She received her PharmD and MBA degrees from Drake University and completed her community pharmacy residency training at the University of North Carolina with Kerr Drug. She has previously taught at Butler University and the University of Maryland. Dr. Angelo also spent time working for the American Pharmacists Association where she focused on the development and enhancement of live continuing pharmacy education programs. Specializing in both immunizations and MTM, she travels throughout the country as a national faculty instructor to teach both the Pharmacy-Based Immunization Delivery and Delivering Medication Therapy Management Services certificate training programs. Dr. Angelo spent six years as an Associate Editor for the Journal of the American Pharmacists Association and has authored several books, which include topics on immunizations, MTM, and residency program development. In 2015, she completed the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy Academic Leadership Fellows Program. She serves on numerous College and University committees, as well as national advisory boards and expert review panels. Dr. Angelo is a frequent speaker at professional meetings and an active volunteer with the Interprofessional Community Clinic at RFUMS and the Medical Reserve Corps in Evanston, Illinois.

Appointed provost in August 2019, Nancy L. Parsley, DPM, MHPE, oversees a broad range of areas across the university that pertain to academic offerings, quality and instruction. These include: academic and faculty affairs, institutional research, accreditation and assessment, academic planning and regulatory oversight, faculty development, and online learning and instructional design (OLID). Additionally, the areas of university partnerships, interprofessional education and simulation, diversity and inclusion, as well as university student affairs and enrollment management also report to the provost through the leadership of those specific areas. Dr. Parsley also oversees new academic program development and growth of existing programs across the university. Dr. Parsley previously served as vice president for academic affairs, a role she held until strategically combining academic and faculty affairs for more efficient integration of those areas under new leadership reporting directly to her. As the former associate provost of interprofessional (IP) strategy, Dr. Parsley directed RFU's DeWitt C. Baldwin Institute for Interprofessional Education and led a focus on educating future clinicians for coordinated, collaborative patient care. She continues to anticipate the needs of the evolving healthcare environment, including the need for interprofessional, team-based and patient-centered clinical rotations. A tireless advocate for IP education and collaborative practice and a dedicated leader in the podiatric medical profession, Dr. Parsley has extensive experience in both policy development and higher education administration. She is the former director of health policy and practice for the American Podiatric Medical Association, where she previously served as policy and practice officer. She worked in private practice in Washington, D.C., and first gained policy and legislative experience as a congressional fellow working for the U.S. House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Health. Dr. Parsley joined her alma mater in 2007 as associate dean of academic affairs. Named dean in 2011, she is also an associate professor in the Department of Podiatric Surgery and Applied Biomechanics. She has held leadership roles in the profession, serving as chair of the board of directors of the American Association of Colleges of Podiatric Medicine from 2015 to 2017 and vice chair for two years prior. She is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and Illinois Podiatric Medical Association. She has served on numerous professional committees and is the recipient of many honors and awards, including Scholl College Alumnus of the Year and Presidential Honor in 2003; multiple inclusions on the Top 100 Most Influential Podiatrists list; and honorable mention for the annual Podiatry Management Lifetime Achievement Award. Dr. Parsley completed the Northern Virginia Podiatric Residency Program, which included post-graduate training in lower extremity limb salvage and reconstructive plastic surgery at the Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. She earned a master's degree in health professions education from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Hanes has over 25 years of experience in academic pharmacy, having served on the Pharmacy faculties of the Universities of Tennessee and Illinois. Dr. Hanes received his PharmD from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) in 1994 and completed a PGY-1 residency at UIC followed by a 2-year Critical Care Research Fellowship at the University of Tennessee (1995-1997).
