Andrew Lee

Mr. Andrew Lee joins the Taiwan Entrepreneurs Fund Limited as Executive Director. Mr. Lee was the Chief Financial Offer of EnTie Commercial Bank ("EnTie Bank"), a publicly listed bank on the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE: 2849) and a portfolio company in the Longreach Group managed private equity fund. In his role as Chief Financial Officer at EnTie Bank from 2007 to 2015, he oversaw the strategic and organizational development, budgeting and reporting, human resources management, information technology services and integrated risk management, and helped turn around EnTie Bank into a modern and highly profitable bank in Taiwan. Mr. Lee served as the spokesman of EnTie Bank and as a member to its management committee, asset and liability management committee, risk committee, and personnel evaluation committee. Prior to joining EnTie Bank, Mr. Lee was a vice president at the investment banking division of Lehman Brothers Inc., responsible for both the coverage of clients in Taiwan as well as the execution of capital markets and mergers and acquisitions ("M&A") transactions. Mr. Lee completed various fund raising and M&A transactions for large Taiwanese enterprises in technology, media, telecom, and financial services industries. Mr. Lee also assisted in various leveraged buyouts by international private equity firms. Mr. Lee received his BA and MBA in finance from National Taiwan University.

Bernard Charnwut Chan - Chairman, President

A graduate of Pomona College in California, Bernard Charnwut Chan is the Chairman and President of the publicly-listed Asia Financial Holdings and Chairman of Asia Insurance. He is Chairman of the Hong Kong - Thailand Business Council and an advisor to Bangkok Bank (China) Co. Ltd. He sits on the boards of several local and overseas companies in financial services and is a director of Bumrungrad Hospital Public Company in Thailand. Bernard has a long record of public service. He is Chairperson of the Hong Kong Council of Social Service and Steward of The Hong Kong Jockey Club. A patron of the arts, he is Chairman of M Plus Museum Ltd. and Tai Kwun Culture & Arts Co. Ltd. He is also Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Chronicles Institute and Chairman of Our Hong Kong Foundation. He was a Hong Kong Deputy to the National People's Congress of The People's Republic of China (2008-2023) and the previous Convenor of the Non-Official Members of the Executive Council (2017-2022). He is a former non-official member of Hong Kong's Executive Council (2004-09 and 2012-2022) and former member of Hong Kong's Legislative Council (1998-2008) representing the insurance industry. Other past positions including Council Chair of Lingnan University, Chairman of the Hong Kong Palace Museum Ltd., Chairman of the Council for Sustainable Development, Chairman of the Antiquities Advisory Board, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Revitalisation of Historic Buildings and Chairman of the two Standing Committees on Disciplined Services and Judicial Salaries and Conditions of Service.

Charles Yen

Charles Yen is the Chairman of Taipei Co-Creation Foundation for Entrepreneurs (TCCFE). Currently, he is the independent director of Sinyi Realty Inc. and Qisda Corp., and director of Alibaba Taiwan Entrepreneurs Fund while serving as board of director for many charity foundations. Charles co-founded AAMA Taipei Cradle Program and serves as the principal of the program since 2012. Dedicated to assisting young entrepreneurs with startups at growth stage by connecting cross-generation mentorship and partner resources, the program has cultivated over 251 startups with 94 volunteer mentors. In 2020, TCCFE was established based on the program, aiming at composing thriving startup ecosystem with sustainable operation. Charles provided professional audit and consulting service over 30 years at Deloitte USA, Taiwan and Mainland China. He was Partner and Managing Director of Deloitte Taiwan, Managing Partner of Clients and Markets of Deloitte China and President of Vincera Capital Group.

Dr. Allan Zeman, GBM, GBS, JP, FCPA (Aust.) is the Chairman of Lan Kwai Fong Group, a major property owner and developer in Hong Kong's Lan Kwai Fong Area, one of Hong Kong's most popular tourist and entertainment districts. Dr. Zeman serves as a director of the "Star" Ferry Company, Limited. He is also the Non-Executive Director of Pacific Century Premium Developments Limited and is an independent non-executive director of Sino Land Company Limited, Tsim Sha Tsui Properties Limited, Television Broadcasts Limited (TVB) and Fosun Tourism Group, all of which are listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. Dr. Zeman is also the Non-Executive Chairman of Wynn Macau Limited, a prominent gaming operator in the US and Macau. Dr Zeman is a member of the HKSAR Human Resources Planning Commission which is chaired by the Chief Secretary of HK. It is aimed to consolidate resources and efforts of the Government and various sectors to examine, review and co-ordinate policies and measures on human resources in a holistic manner. Dr. Zeman is a member of the Board of Governors of The Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Dr Zeman is also a board director of The Alibaba Entrepreneurs Fund launched by the Alibaba Group. Dr. Zeman also serves as a Board Member of the Clinical Governance Committee of the Hong Kong Sanatorium Hospital. Dr Zeman received an Honorary Doctor of Laws from University of Western Ontario, Canada. In 2012, Dr. Zeman was awarded Honorary Doctorate Degrees of Business Administration from City University of Hong Kong and University of Science and Technology of Hong Kong. Dr Zeman was awarded as the Honorary Member of the CPA Australia in February 2016. In 2019, Dr Zeman was awarded Honorary Doctorate Degrees of Business Administration from Open University of Hong Kong, now known as the Hong Kong Metropolitan University. In 2022, Dr Zeman was awarded Honorary Fellowship by Social Enterprise Research Academy (SERA) in recognized of Dr Zeman's distinguished contributions to global sustainable development.

Joseph C. Tsai

Mr. Joseph Tsai is vice chairman and director of Cathay United Bank, one of the largest private banks with strong market positions in Taiwan, where Mr. Tsai endeavors in setting the long-term development strategies and executing mergers and acquisitions, banking innovation and organizational optimization plans. Mr. Tsai also serves as director of Cathay Life Insurance, executive vice president of Tung Chi Enterprise Co., Ltd., and vice president of the Harvard Club of the Republic of China. Mr. Tsai received his J.D. from Georgetown University. Joe Tsai is co-founder and chairman of Alibaba Group and has served on its board of directors since its inception in 1999. He served as Alibaba's chief financial officer and head of strategic investments and more recently as the company's executive vice chairman. Tsai is chairman of sports and entertainment company BSE Global, which owns the Brooklyn Nets (NBA), New York Liberty (WNBA), and the teams' home arena Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. He owns two professional indoor lacrosse teams in the National Lacrosse League, the San Diego Seals and Las Vegas Desert Dogs. Tsai is also an investor in the Premier Lacrosse League and Los Angeles FC of Major League Soccer. Through the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation, Tsai and his wife Clara are active philanthropists supporting initiatives in education, research, social justice, economic mobility, the arts and humanitarian relief. Tsai is a founding board member of The Asian American Foundation (TAAF), a non-profit that provides resources to Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities to combat hate and discrimination and support AAPI advocacy, prosperity and representation. Tsai is a member of the J.P. Morgan International Council, EXOR Partners Council, and International Advisory Council of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. He is a trustee of The Lawrenceville School. Prior to Alibaba Group, Tsai was a private equity investor in Asia for Investor AB of Sweden's Wallenberg family. He practiced tax law as an associate with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York. He is a graduate of Yale College (BA '86) and Yale Law School (JD '90).

Lan Kwai Fong

Lan Kwai Fong Group in recent years, has expanded to various cities in China which include Chengdu and the GBA area. Dr. Zeman is also the owner of Paradise Properties Group, a property developer in Thailand which includes the award-winning Andara Resort and Villas in Phuket, a luxury golf resort and villa development called the Aquella and the condominium development named Sudara.

Mr. Danny T. Chiu

Mr. Danny T. Chiu is Chairman and CEO of Morrison Express Corp., a leading Asia-based global freight forwarding & logistics company. Mr. Chiu joined Morrison Express in 1995 and has been the driving force behind the continuing transformation of Morrison Express from a regional to a global player. Prior to joining Morrison Express, Mr. Chiu served as a consultant at The Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Chiu sits on the Board of Advisors of Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. He was President of Harvard Club of Taiwan in 2012-2014 and President of Harvard Business School Association of Taipei in 2005-2012. Mr. Chiu received his BSFS in International Economics from Georgetown University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.

Mr. Savio Kwan

Mr. Savio Kwan was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Alibaba Group from 2001 to 2003 and served as Chief People Officer for the year 2004 before stepping down from full-time executive duties and was formerly the Independent Non Executive Director at Alibaba.com since 2008, the listed B2B unit of Alibaba Group, until the company has been privatized in June 2012. During his time at Alibaba, Mr. Kwan saw the company transformed from an internet start-up with just over 150 staffs burning close to US$2M per month into one of the world's biggest B2B Company with over 2,500 staffs generating over US$5M surplus cash per month. Mr. Kwan, has 30 years of global management experience, including seventeen years at General Electric and four years as the Managing Director of the China operations of BTR plc, a UK-based Fortune 500 company. Mr. Kwan also served as a board member of the Asia Pacific Advisory Board of York International, a leading global air conditioning system provider and a unit of Johnson Control listed in the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Kwan's career includes 17 years of high-level management at General Electric Medical Systems where he had responsibilities for sales, marketing, operations, business development, and establishment of joint venture companies in Asia. Among his accomplishments at GE, Mr. Kwan grew the China Medical business from zero revenues to US$70 million revenues in less than 4 years. At BTR, Mr. Kwan was Managing Director for the China operations of 8 manufacturing subsidiaries with some US$150M sales which he built through merger and acquisitions in the space of under three years. Savio has been a member of the Governing Body of the London Business School since December 2018. In 2005 Mr. Kwan co-founded A & K Consulting with Malcolm Au and serves in the capacity of Partner and CEO. He is also a Visiting Executive Professor of Henley Business School, a unit of Reading University in the UK. He also won the Alumni Achievement Award of the London Business School in 2011. In January 2014, Mr. Kwan joined the main board of British American Tobacco Group as Non Executive Director. Mr. Kwan was born in Hong Kong and is a UK national. He pursued an undergraduate diploma at Cambridgeshire College of Technology and received Master of Science degrees from both the London Business School and Loughborough University in the UK.

Ms Sabrina W. Fung

Ms Sabrina W. Fung is the Group Managing Director of Fung Retailing Group and the CEO of Asia Retail Company Limited, a business unit within the Fung Group focused on serving and growing international brands in Asia. Currently, Ms Fung is the Investment Director of Fung Investment Management Limited. She started working in the family business since 2000 as Investment Manager at the private investment arm of Fung Group running the family's investments. Prior to joining the Fung Group, Ms. Fung worked for Brown Brothers Harriman & Co in New York and later held the position of Assistant Manager at its Hong Kong office until 1999. Ms Fung is experienced in the retail industry and also held positions in marketing and public relations for Salvatore Ferragamo Asia, merchandising and sourcing for Li & Fung (Trading) Limited and wholesale branding for Li & Fung USA. In 2017, Ms Fung was named in the Business of Fashion 500, and Women's Wear Daily 10 of Tomorrow. In Hong Kong, Ms Fung is on the Advisory Panel of IBM Collaborative Innovative Program, the Advisory Committee of the Tanoto Center for Asian Family Business and Entrepreneurship Studies at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), the University Court of The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and the Executive Committee of the International Advisory Council of the Faculty of Business and Economics of HKU, the Hong Kong-Europe Business Council and the Hong Kong-France Business Council respectively. Ms Fung was a member of the Mainland Business Advisory Committee of Hong Kong Trade Development Council. Internationally, Ms Fung is a member of the McLaren Advisory Group, Harvard Global Advisory Council, the Board of Trustees of The Carnegie Hall Corporation in New York. In addition, Ms Fung is the Co-Chair of Asia Council of St Paul's School in New Hampshire, US, and previously served on its Board of Trustees. Ms Fung graduated from Harvard University, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics in 1993.

Ms. Cindy Chow

Ms. Cindy Chow is currently the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Alibaba Hong Kong Entrepreneurs Fund (AEF). AEF was founded in 2015 with the mission of helping Hong Kong-based entrepreneurs and young people realize their dreams and visions for their businesses and communities. To fulfil this mission, AEF invests into startups and initiates various activities to bolster innovation and entrepreneurship in the community. Cindy joined Alibaba Group in 2007 and has worked in the financial control and planning capacity, most recently as the Senior Director of International Finance. Before joining Alibaba Group, Cindy worked in a number of Hong Kong listed companies, specializing in financing, management reporting and planning.
