R.J. MacDonald

R.J. MacDonald is a local to the Northern Neck area. Raised in Lewisetta, Virginia, R.J. spent his young childhood years following behind his grandfather, Albert "Bruiser" Jett. It was with his grandfather that he learned many of the talents that he uses today. R.J. attended Northumberland High School in Heathsville, Virginia. After school, you would often find R.J. working side jobs, such as his lawn care business or helping local dock builders, to make extra money and help his grandparents out. R.J. would often help his grandfather with crabbing and oystering and of course building and fixing things that were in need of repair. After graduating high school R.J. took a job working on an offshore tug boat. However, the long days and weeks away from his family and his hometown began to weigh on him and he looked for a way to spend more time at home but still be able to be on the water every day. It was at this time that R.J. saw the need for a truly "local" dock builder. He began to set his plan into motion, saving money and buying equipment piece by piece R.J. built what is now referred to as M&C Marine Construction, LLC.
