Mrs. Anderson graduated from Antioch McGregor University in Yellow Springs, Ohio, with a Masters degree in Early Childhood Education, and Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio, with a BA in Communication Arts and minors in Bible and Music. She taught for more than 15 years in Christian and public schools before joining the MCS faculty in 2021. Mrs. Anderson and her husband, Mr. Anderson, worship at Grace Church in Marshalltown.
Bethany Wirin grew up in Marshalltown and earned her MBA from St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota, as well as a BA in Spanish from St. Olaf in Northfield, Minnesota. She served on the Marshalltown City Council for 16 years, and has served on many other boards and committees in the area. She is a current member of the Evening Rotary Club. Bethany, husband Bruce, and twin children, Betsy and Ben, worship at First Presbyterian Church in Marshalltown.
Mrs. Blagg graduated from Maranatha Baptist Bible College with degrees in Secondary Education, English and Bible. She taught middle and high school for 8 years at Central Iowa Christian Academy, homeschooled her five children for 18 years, and joined the MCS faculty in 2017. Mrs. Blagg and her husband, Dave, worship at Grace Church in Marshalltown.
A member of our staff since 2009, Miss Harris graduated from Emmaus Bible College with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and Bible/Theology. She also taught in private schools in Cedar Rapids and Anamosa and has done extensive tutoring over the years. She worships at Newburg Chester Church in Newburg, Iowa, near Grinnell.

Miss Katy graduated from Emmaus Bible College with Bachelors of Science in Biblical Studies and Intercultural Studies. In addition to teaching at MCS since 2017, Miss Katy works on her family farm. She worships at Newburg Chester Church in Newburg, near Grinnell. Miss Katy says, "It's my goal to model kindness, patience, joyfulness, love of God, and love of learning to my students each day."
Miss Lawrence joined MCS in 2013 after having served two years as a first-grade missionary teacher in South Africa. She graduated from Faith Bible College in Des Moines with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. She offers Before and After Care to MCS students each day from 7:30 - 5:30. Miss Lawrence worships at Center Street Baptist Church in Marshalltown.
Mrs. Turner graduated from University of Oulu in Oulu, Finland, with a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, as well as extensive study in math and education classes at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. She taught and tutored for more than 20 years in Christian and public schools before joining the MCS faculty in 2019. Mrs. Turner, and her husband, David, worship at Reformed Baptist Church of Tama.
Mrs. Schendel grew up in the Marshalltown area and graduated from Northern Plains Christian Academy in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She spent one year at Pensacola Christian College; while there, she worked part-time in the K - 12 Pensacola Christian Academy, which confirmed her desire to work with children. She joined the staff of Marshalltown Christian School in August 2022. Mrs. Schendel and her husband worship at Fellowship Baptist Church. When she's not working, Mrs. Schendel coaches a girls' volleyball team and works on home renovations with her husband.
Sarah Braun graduated from Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque with Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education and Bible/Theology. She is currently pursuing her Master of Science in Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Kansas. Besides teaching at MCS since 2018, Miss Braun works with children in church ministries and camps each summer. She worships at Martensdale Community Church.
