OLDSLEEPERS

The Schomberg Old Sleepers Hockey Club was officially formed (after lengthy discussions) in the late winter of 1978/1979. Our inaugural 'season' was '79/'80. The founding fathers consisted of 3 actual hockey players and one wannabe - Ron Morrison (deceased), Doug Middleton, Gerald Sweeney and Chuck Frost... We spent a considerable amount of time crafting the SOHC Constitution, the majority of which remains intact today (with minor revisions over the years). The principles we agreed to were to form a community-based, Schomberg-area hockey 'club' consisting of players who enjoyed each other's company and demonstrated a willingness to actively participate in the operation of the club for the betterment of the members and the community, versus players had no interest in anything beyond playing...
