Dr. Andrews grew up in the Bay Area of Northern California. She graduated in May 2020 from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and finished her clinical year at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine. While attending Ross University in the Caribbean, she was hired as the farrier for the school's horses and also helped the locals of the island with their horses' hoof care and medical needs.
After graduating, Dr. Andrews completed a small animal rotating specialty internship at Louisville BluePearl and completed her Certification of Acupuncture of Veterinary Medicine at the Chi Institute of Chinese Veterinary Acupuncture.
Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Andrews was a registered veterinary technician for 13 years, where she worked in small animal emergency and specialty, along with large animal ambulatory services. She was a member of the Future Farmers of America throughout high school and raised sheep and cattle on her grandparent's small farm and her family's beef cattle ranch.
Dr. Andrews has a specific interest in podiatry and radiology. She is looking forward to furthering her education from the staff at Park Equine Hospital during her internship and is looking forward to meeting all of our clients and patients.
Dr. Hugo Almonte is originally from Durango, Mexico. He received a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Science and a minor in Biology and Chemistry from Morehead State University in 2013. In 2017, he received his DVM from Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine.
During his undergraduate career, Dr. Almonte worked for Park Equine Hospital from 2010-2013 and again from 2013-2017. He completed his surgical internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute in 2018. Dr. Almonte is currently an equine surgery resident at Park Equine Hospital. His residency program is a collaborative program with the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Almonte's interests are upper respiratory airways, orthopedic and fracture repair surgery, and Thoroughbred sales work. In his spare time, he enjoys working out and horse racing.
Originally, from Western Kentucky, Dr. Mariah Pearson received her bachelor of science in agriculture and her master of agriculture from Auburn University. She then attended Lincoln Memorial University for her DVM. Following veterinary school, Dr. Pearson completed a 1-year internship here at Park Equine Hospital. Dr. Pearson's love for reproduction guided her to College Station, Texas where she obtained a residency position in the Theriogenology section at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine.
Her love for Kentucky and the opportunity to utilize her reproductive knowledge in the horse capital of the world has brought Dr. Pearson back to practice at Park Equine Hospital. Dr. Pearson's favorite part of veterinary medicine is seeing the difference that is made in not only the animal's life but their owners as well. Having the ability to help bring comfort and clarity to the cases she sees means the world to Dr. Pearson. Dr. Pearson is excited to offer general practice services as well as specialty reproduction services for mares and stallions.
In her spare time, Dr. Pearson enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys being outside, kayaking, swimming, or hiking. She also likes to travel, spend time with her Dachshund, Louie, cook new recipes and watch UK basketball and Auburn football.

Gary Priest is a 1976 graduate of Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He has over 40 years of experience as a surgeon, track veterinarian and diagnostician. In addition, Priest has decades of experience with horses in training, breeding farms and sale yearlings. Priest built his reputation as partner of the legendary Alex Harthill. Harthill and Priest were instrumental in the introduction of arthroscopic surgery in the horse, as well as the use of ultrasound, and most recently dynamic endoscopy. He now counts several of the world's most successful owners and breeders amongst his clients.
Priest was named Veterinarian of the year in 1996 by the Kentucky Veterinary Medical Association. He is also a member of AAEP, KAEP, KVMA, WHOA, TCA, TOBA, American Quarter Horse Association, and Committee for State Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratories. His practice areas of focus are lameness evaluation and diagnostics and upper airway impairments and diagnostics, evolving technology and practice management. His surgery focus is upper respiratory surgery, arthroscopic and orthopedic surgery in the performance horse.
Priest resides in Versailles, Kentucky with his wife and professional dressage trainer, Kathy Priest. They also have two children, David Priest, DVM of Wellington, Florida and Versailles, Kentucky and Katie Burrow of London, England.
A native of Estill County, Dr. Park graduated from Auburn University in June of 1997, with a DVM. Later that same year, Dr. Park opened a mixed practice, Estill Veterinary Services, in Irvine, Kentucky. He later moved the practice to Winchester, Kentucky, in June of 2001, first known as Park Animal Care. Dr. Park's interest moved exclusively toward equine in 2004, at which time the practice name changed to Park Equine Hospital. In October of 2010, the practice was relocated to the current facility on Paris Pike. Dr. Park enjoys all areas of equine medicine, but has special interests in surgery and lameness.
Dr. Myers grew up in Sharon Center, Ohio. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Neuroscience and Zoology from Miami University and received her DVM from Lincoln Memorial University.
Her love for horses runs in the family and she grew up riding quarter horses and hunter/jumpers. Dr. Myers' practice interests include sports medicine, reproduction, and emergency medicine. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys running and hiking with her dog Archie.
Born and raised in the great state of Kansas, Dr. Aschbrenner received his bachelor's degree in Animal Science in 2008 from the Kansas State University. Upon graduation, Dr. Aschbrenner accepted an equine ambulatory internship at Peterson & Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Florida. In 2009, Dr. Aschbrenner returned home to attend Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. While completing his DVM, Dr. Aschbrenner worked as an emergency surgery and large animal ICU technician, at the Kansas State College of Veterinary Medicine. He also completed an internship under Dr. Shell at Thistledown Racetrack and Northfield Park Standardbred track in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Aschbrenner has been with Park Equine Hospital since July of 2013 as one of the clinics first interns and has been a staff veterinarian since July 2014. Dr. Aschbrenner has a special interest in equine sports medicine and equine reproduction. Dr. Aschbrenner resides in Lexington.
