Abe Kaul

Abe serves as CRC's Finance Coordinator. In this role, he helps coordinate the monthly financial statements of CRC and CRC programs, deals with the account payable and account receivable, and helps to coordinate the operations of CRC. Abe was born in Chicago, spent a few years in Miami before moving to Seattle, and finally to Denver in 2014; he has lived in all four time zones in the U.S. mainland. Abe received his B.A. from Linfield University and majored in Political Science and minored in History and Crea tive Writing. He then received his J.D. from Seattle University School of Law where he served as the Vice-President of the North American South Asian Law Students Association and helped plan and run their national conference in Washington D.C. After Abe was done with school, he worked on political campaigns before moving to Denver to work for a political research firm for the 2014 Election Cycle. Before starting at CRC, Abe worked at the Center for Legal Inclusiveness doing work in operations and finance. Abe loves the Denver sunshine, a nice change of scenery from the gray of Seattle, and enjoys reading, hiking Colorado's beautiful trails, going to museums, and debating politics with his friends.

Alex McHenry

Alex brings over ten years of experience in the fields of education, leadership, and community engagement. As the Director of Civic Engagement, Alex oversees CRC's civic engagement programs including the Participation Project and The Root Causes Network helping nonprofits to build and strengthen their advocacy efforts. While born and raised in Denver, Alex has spent the majority of her adult life moving around the US and abroad, including living in Kenya and Malaysia, and she is happy to once more be settled in the sunny state of Colorado. Alex has a masters' degree in conservation social science and is passionate about working at a systems level to tackle complex social issues. In her free time, Alex can be found hiking, playing volleyball, or exploring one of Denver's many thrift stores.

Anna Toth

Anna is from Arlington, Virginia and graduated from James Madison University with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Women and Gender Studies. Anna is an Assistant AmeriCorps Program Manager for Community Resource Center's VISTA program, in this role she supports the AmeriCorps VISTA Program through member recruitment, onboarding, support, and more. Previously, Anna served as the Regional Engagement Associate AmeriCorps VISTA with CRC. Anna also has prior experience as the Research Assistant for the National Association of State Boards of Education, as well as the Development and Donor Relations intern with Selah Freedom. Anna is very excited to bring the skills and experiences that she has acquired to this role in order to best support Community Resource Center.

Ash Cano

Ash Cano (she/her/hers) is an Advocacy Intern working with the Participation Project and Root Causes Network. A disabled Veteran, mother, and full-time grad student, she is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work at University of Denver. Ash is passionate about grief education, intersectionality, and death with dignity advocacy. In her free time Ash enjoys hiking, painting, afternoon tea, and watching horror movies.

Betty Allen-Parrish

Betty Allen-Parrish, currently is a Research Volunteer, editing and researching the Colorado Grants GuideĀ® since March 2011. She has recently been assisting with grant proposal writing and has participated in a number of trainings offered at CRC. Previously, she completed activities in a number of departments as an Intern at the Anschutz Medical Center and at a local television station. Betty has dedicated her career to promoting a stronger community through education, healthcare and telecommunications sectors. She has a wide range of experiences in K-12 public and private urban school settings. She holds Bachelor and Master's degrees in French and Special Education as well as a Doctoral degree in Education.

Caroline McClenahan

Caroline McClenahan is the Grant Administrator for Routt County. A graduate of Boise State University, Caroline's work history is a patchwork of experience in the private and public sectors. Caroline started working at the age of 15 at the YMCA as a lifeguard, swim instructor and camp counselor and worked all through college, juggling 3 part-time jobs and babysitting. After college, Caroline spent 3 years engaged in trail maintenance/building roles before starting a 3 year tenure at the University of Wisconsin. Following her role as a Research Administrator and the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center, Caroline spent 4 years working for a small business in Steamboat Springs, before assuming her current role at Routt County. Caroline met her husband while working together on a Rocky Mountain Youth Corps trail crew and they currently live in Hayden with their daughter, bloodhound and chickens.

Casey Shivers

Casey is CRC's National Service Training Specialist, supporting Colorado's COVID Containment program that mobilizes national service members serving remotely across the state to respond to the coronavirus pandemic. Casey received her undergraduate degree in Sports Medicine from John Brown University, where she was also captain of the women's basketball team. She then moved from Arkansas to Colorado and received her Master's degree in Transpersonal Ecopsychology from Naropa University. Casey comes to CRC with over ten years of experience in the health care industry, where she created programming for addiction treatment facilities, fire departments, and professional sports teams. Casey most recently served as an AmeriCorps State and National member, herself, at the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment where she served as a case investigator and contact tracer, preventing the spread of COVID19 in Colorado communities. In her free time, Casey enjoys taking road trips, doing anything outside, drag performers, reading comic books, and watching competition reality shows.

Dagny McKinley

Dagny McKinley has lived many places, but found a home in the expansive granite landscape of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. She is as comfortable in the city as she is in the wilderness, but prefers the challenges of big mountains and surviving outdoors. McKinley stays current on environmental issues, women's issues and is an avid animal rights supporter. She believes all lives are interconnected and each person, landscape and insect has something to offer and teach. Writing has been a part of McKinley's life since she was a small child. She found healing through writing and nature and continues immerse herself in those passions today. She previously served as the Director of Development and Marketing for Steamboat Creates and is now working her dream job as Director of the Colorado New Play Festival.

She has spent 6 years teaching nutrition, cooking, gardening and healthy lifestyles to students of all ages with a focus on personal development and social emotional learning. The energy and passion she brings to her work is demonstrated by her contagious enthusiasm to work with and help others. As the Program Coordinator she is dedicated to providing the best programming to all Colorado communities.

Grace Gilbert is the Member Learning Coordinator with the Colorado Healthcare Corps team. After earning a BS in Psychology from William & Mary, Grace moved to Durango and served as an AmeriCorps state/national member. She then stayed in the area and worked in youth substance use prevention at San Juan Basin Public Health. Grace is passionate about health care, mental health, and food security. In her free time, she loves to hike, ski, bike, and drink tea while reading a great book.

Heather Holladay

Heather is an AmeriCorps State and National Program Manager supporting CRC's newest program, Colorado Healthcare Corps. Originally from Atlanta, she holds a bachelor's degree in Community Health from Georgia College & State University. She has a background in national service, serving as an AmeriCorps member on trail crews in Colorado and Montana and eventually working as a Program Coordinator for Utah Healthcare Corps, a program of community health workers who reduce barriers to care by addressing social determinants of health. Heather has also spent time working in reproductive health, STI and HIV prevention, and COVID-19 response. In her free time, she loves gravel biking, hot yoga, reading nonfiction, and eating burritos. Heather is excited to represent CRC from the high desert of Durango.

Helen is the Routt County Program Manager at The Cycle Effect. She has a deep passion to inspire organizations, people, and our community to continually strive towards their goals. Jen Fanning

Jen Fanning has over twenty years of experience working with disadvantaged populations in community health, program development and healthcare delivery implementation. Jen received significant training and experience in her role as a Community Health and AIDS Prevention agent in West Africa during her Peace Corps service. Additional experience and training includes health and racial equity, social determinants of health, inclusion, case management, marketing, environmental health, and teaching developmentally delayed children. Jen also volunteered for the National Sports Center for the Disabled for seven years and the American Cancer Society for three years. Jen received a Bachelor in Arts from Hamilton College, with a concentration in Psychology, and a Master's of Science from University of Denver in Healthcare Management, with a concentration in Strategic Leadership in Healthcare Organizations. She was a 2009 fellow of the Regional Institute for Health and Environmental Leadership Advanced Leadership Training Program. She was also a 2011 fellow in the Community Resource Center's Nonprofit Leadership and Management Training Program and a 2013 fellow of El Pomar's Emerging Leaders Development Program. Jen is also a trained Second Circle facilitator to build trusting relationships and work toward real, meaningful change. Jen also was co-chair of the Northwest Colorado Rural Philanthropy Days (NWCO RPD) planning committee in 2012-2013 and co-chair of the marketing committee in 2016-2017. In 2019, Jen was appointed to Governor Polis's Behavioral Health Task Force to evaluate and set the roadmap to improve the current behavioral health system in the state. Jen was hired by the Network in July 2007 as the Community Health Program Coordinator and assumed the Executive Director's role in 2008.

In her past positions she has always worked with diverse populations in mind ensuring that all programs are- developed to ensure the success of students and or clients. Katy Pepinsky (she/her/ella), Director of GrantCorps, works to build the capacity of Colorado nonprofits to access and manage public and private grant funds. Katy started with CRC in June 2022. Prior to her current position, Katy worked as the Executive Director of a youth services organization in La Plata County. For over twenty years, she has worked with a diverse array of non-profit and service organizations to help build more resilient communities including La Plata Youth Services, Cooking Matters Colorado, Growing Partners of SW Colorado, Mercy Hospital, Peace Corps, and Colorado State University Extension. A native of Bloomington, Indiana, Katy holds a master's degree in Extension Education from Colorado State University and a Professional Non-Profit Management Certificate, from Fort Lewis College. Katy lives in Durango and enjoys reading, gardening, practicing yoga, and exploring the rural rivers and trails of the Southwest with her two kids, husband, and dog.

Katy Sawyer brings the perspective of having working in grassroots nonprofits in development countries as well as national nonprofits in the US to her role as the Associate Director of AmeriCorps Programs. Katy's passion for national service began during her own AmeriCorps service. After graduating from Tufts University, Katy spent over 10 years working with Jumpstart, a national early childhood education organization, gaining experience in program management and development, AmeriCorps programs and funding, nonprofit fundraising and board management, and national campaigns. Deciding to combine her professional skills and experiences with her love of (and degrees in) international relations and Spanish, Katy moved to Nicaragua to work with organizations providing supplementary educational opportunities to children in Granada. Prior to joining United Way, Kristen brought a background in education. Since 2013, Maria has served as President & CEO of the Community Resource Center (CRC). Maria believes in the power of the nonprofit sector to drive meaningful change and promote health and justice in our communities. With over two decades of experience leading the social sector to become more transparent, community-driven and collaborative, Maria has spent her career connecting government, nonprofit organizations, and businesses to improve the community. Maria works closely with individuals, their teams, and organizations to build trust, create a space for open dialogue, and harness the power of change. Maria's visionary leadership has led to milestone improvements at CRC including the transformation of the Rural Philanthropy Days program, addition of AmeriCorps VISTA and State/National programs, acquisition of the Colorado Participation Project and the Nonprofit Social Enterprise Exchange. Since 2013, CRC's budget has grown from under $500K to over $8 million, CRC's staff has grown from 5 to 33 team members and CRC's impact across the state of Colorado has been felt at every corner. Appointed in 2014 to the Governor's Commission on Community Service, Maria served as the Commission Chair from 2018 to 2020. Maria was recognized as "Who's Who in Impact Investing" by the Impact Finance Center and Denver Business Journal in 2017 and 2018 and is an Everything DiSCĀ® Certified Facilitator.

Molly is passionate about reducing disparities by applying innovation, best practices, system-level thinking, and equity-focused approaches to create more resilient, inclusive, and thriving communities. Molly served as a program coordinator at Boulder County Public Health, a coach and mentor for the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and a program manager for the network of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Jefferson County Public Health. AmeriCorps has a special place in her timeline because the program is what brought her to Colorado. As an AmeriCorps alumni. A proud AmeriCorps NCCC alumni, Nellie understands the value of national service and the impact it can have on individuals, organizations, and communities. Prior to joining Community Resource Center in 2015, Rebecca served as Executive Director of the Colorado Participation Project, a nonprofit building advocacy capacity within human service organizations to engage their communities in elections and civic life, bringing the organization to CRC's portfolio in 2016. Rebecca has held fundraising, business development, and program roles with Seniors' Resource Center and Regis University. She is a contributor to the Colorado Nonprofit Association's Principles & Practices for Nonprofit Excellence and was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as a Who's Who in Impact Investing. Sean Dollard

In his role as Program Officer, Sean is a member of the Colorado Health Foundation's (CHF) Affordable Housing, Food Access and Security, and Metro-Denver/Northwest Colorado regional community investment teams. Sean works diligently to build authentic, trusting partnerships with community leaders and service providers across the Denver-metro and NW Colorado region so that Coloradans facing unfair barriers have voice, agency and power to improve their lives. In his role, Sean has been influential in deepening existing strategies to center racial justice and moving power to community members and grassroots groups who are most deeply affected by the inequities they seek to redress. This has been demonstrated through innovative grantmaking across the housing justice and food justice ecosystems with goals of manifesting health equity. Sean's early career spanned across roles including on-site resident manager for a permanent supportive housing program, eviction-prevention family advocacy case management and other roles in communications and community engagement. After serving on a place-based community engagement team in Lake Worth, Florida through Palm Health Foundation, he knew his dream was to someday work for a statewide health foundation addressing deeply-rooted, systemic/structural inequities.

Stephanie Einfeld has served the agency for eight years commencing as Business Manager, then transitioning to Director of Performance Improvement and finally transitioning to CEO in 2018. Ms. Einfeld received a Bachelor of Science degree in Statistical Mathematics from Colorado State University in 2004, after which she began work in the healthcare field. In 2010, she received a professional certification in Lean Healthcare Management from the University of Michigan and, in 2011, a Master of Business Administration degree from Regis University. During her career, she has held multiple management roles, both in financial analysis and process improvement, including work at a global fortune 500 company.

Tammy Mulligan is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at Community Resource Center. Tammy joins CRC with a strong background in nonprofit leadership, both as a staff member and a board member. Her passion is working with organizations to offer opportunities to those who are ready to take the next step forward. Before joining CRC, Tammy served as the COO at Mi Casa Resource Center. Her focus was leading nationally recognized programs in micro entrepreneurship and workforce development for low income minority community members combined with strong finance, HR and administration efforts. Prior to that she served as the Executive Director of Denver Urban Matters (DenUM) for 15 years. Her work was focused on revenue growth, program evaluation, leadership development, and inclusivity efforts. In 2017 she led DenUM through a successful merger and spent time consulting with small organizations on operations, project management, and strategic opportunities. Tammy's board service includes Denver's Welfare Reform Board, Community Shares of Colorado, Colorado Participation Project, and numerous others all focused on helping individuals and organizations move forward.

Tayah Wheeland

Tayah Wheeland is the Executive Assistant at Community Resource Center. She is originally from Berkeley, California and received a master's degree in International Affairs with a focus in environmental policy from UC San Diego. She has studied four foreign languages and worked, lived or travelled in more than 20 countries. Tayah has more than 10 years of experience in administrative roles in the private, public and non-profit sectors and has done volunteer work for non-profit organizations as a Spanish-language translator. In her free time Tayah loves visiting new places, going on picnics, hiking, watching documentaries, cooking, and making jewelry.

TC McCracken

TC McCracken is the Human Resource Manager for the Community Resource Center. She has leadership experience working in the private, public, and non-profit sectors. All her roles focus on supporting others. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communication and Master of Education. She brings CRC decades of experience in the fields of Marketing, Education, and Human Resources. She doesn't count the years, instead she focuses on doing what she loves, providing support and enthusiasm to the communities she serves. She is honored to serve those at CRC creating opportunities, tools, and strategies to develop nonprofits and community groups to strengthen Colorado. Outside of work, she enjoys jogging at a slow pace, performing with sketch and improv teams, writing heartfelt stories, and telling hopefully funny jokes.

Tracie Sullivan

Tracie Sullivan serves as the Assistant Director of AmeriCorps State and National for CRC and is supporting the newly launched Colorado Healthcare Corps program. Tracie brings over 10 years of versatile experience in the non-profit sector, with a most recent focus on assisting healthcare non-profit focused organizations to mobilize their patient communities help change state and federal laws to provide more accessible and affordable healthcare for all. She has a background in government affairs and advocacy, volunteer management, strategic programmatic design and project management. She started her career as an AmeriCorps VISTA in Boston, MA and loved her year of service, leading her to seek out a mission and impact driven career path. Tracie holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Master of Arts degree in Community Development and Planning. Outside of the office, she can be found exploring new trails, hikes, and national parks with her partner and Aussie pup.

Will Matuska

Will is joining CRC as our Statewide Social Media and Marketing Associate VISTA. He is from central Minnesota and studied Environmental Studies and Communication at Saint John's University, a small liberal arts school in Minnesota. Will worked and studied in Bosnia Herzegovina and South Africa, and has work experience with the Great Plains Institute, Vermont Law School's Institute for Energy and the Environment and Minnesota Public Radio. He is looking forward to helping build the capacity of people and nonprofits, and sharing their stories. When he isn't at work, you might find Will playing ping pong, listening to Pinegrove, climbing, or thinking about where he will find his next body of water in Colorado.

Yaz Haldeman

Yaz Haldeman (she/her/hers) is an AmeriCorps State & National Assistant Program Manager for the new Colorado Healthcare Corps (CHC) program. Yaz has a background in community service, public service and a passion for serving nonprofit organizations as both a volunteer and a worker-bee. Yaz started her nonprofit journey in HIV/AIDS community service and has expanded to the arts as well as affordable housing initiatives. Yaz has a degree in Visual Arts, studied the arts and art history extensively in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Florence, Italy and did her M.A. in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University in Bath, England. Yaz is passionate about DEI work both in and out of the workplace and in her free time she enjoys her love of cooking, painting as well as being in nature.
