SOMBRA is the design studio of Allison Shawn. She is a trained architect and ceramicist who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. By combining the intellectual rigor of architectural practice with the intuitive sensitivity of artisanship, she seeks consonance between the natural, built, and human environments. Allison is a native Californian with the casual design sensibility and drawling accent to match. Her work is inspired by a life-long love of craft, botany, yoga, and LA history... We offer wheel-thrown stoneware crafted by hand in our studio in Los Angeles, CA. Ready-made wares are available from our online shop, and we also accept limited commissions.
