Tamara Jovanović Šljukić

Tamara Jovanović Šljukić is a freelance costume and stage designer from Belgrade, Serbia. She works as a set and costume designer for theatre, movies and television and as a researcher in the fields of stage design and history of costume. She graduated from the Faculty of Applied Arts, University of Arts in Belgrade in 2001 and therefore acquired the professional title of the Graduate Costume Designer-Theatre Costume. She holds an MA in Stage Design from the University of Arts in Belgrade (2007). Starting with the awarded final work for getting the university degree - costume-construction King Ubu, most of her later work has been focused on experimenting with different aspects of stage design, as in the projects The Use of Power (Belgrade 2002), Centre for Stage Research - DREAM FACTORY (Belgrade 2007) and Empty Spaces of Serbia (Center for Study in Cultural Development, Belgrade 2009). Her work is also focused on the projects dealing with costume reconstruction: Clothing from the Neolithic until the Late Iron Age in Vojvodina as a part of the project-exhibition Masters of Clay and Wheat (Museum of Vojvodina, Novi Sad 2011) and Reconstruction of Celtic Women's Costume (Museum of Vojvodina, Novi Sad 2012).
