Dr. Jan Roberts is one of the top cosmetic dentists in Vancouver, BC and has been in practice for over 35 years. Along with Dr. Warren Roberts, she co-founded the Pacific Training Institute for Facial Aesthetics (PTIFA) in 2008. Dr. Jan Roberts is a rarity in the dental field. Not only is she a highly trained cosmetic dentist, she is also one of the few international female lecturers and clinical instructors in the North American dental lecture circuit.
Through her work as the Senior Canadian Mentor and a Clinical Director with the Frontier Institute, Dr. Roberts regularly leads hands-on training courses for doctors and their teams on how to achieve outstanding results for aesthetic and restorative cosmetic dentistry. She firmly believes that dentists must continually push themselves to raise the standard of care for their patients. Always one to walk the talk, she is currently in the final stages of AACD accreditation - the world's most recognized advanced credential program. Upon completion, she will join just three other female dentists who have achieved this level of accreditation in Canada.
It is this drive for excellence that means that Dr. Roberts is always on the forefront of new advancements. Dr. John Montague is a graduate of the University of Toronto (1994) and has been in clinical practice for over 20 years in Vancouver, British Columbia. The primary focus of Dr. Montague's practice is dedicated to providing exceptional patient care.
As an advocate for conservative restorative dentistry and a passion for minimally invasive methods that enhance his patients' lives, Dr. Montague has undertaken extensive training in this area and is renown for his gentle and effective approach.
Dr. Montague's interest in the use of botulinum toxin stems from his belief that it is imperative on both the therapeutic and the cosmetic side, that patients receive the highest level of care and results, with the least discomfort. Dr. Warren Roberts is a general dentist who has been in practice in Vancouver, BC for 40+ years. After attending several botulinum toxin and facial rejuvenation training programs earlier in his career, Dr. Roberts was concerned with the level of training that was being provided in this field. To be an exceptional practitioner with no negative side effects, Dr. Roberts believes you need not only a deep level of understanding of head and neck anatomy, but also a deep understanding of specific practices and injection techniques that make the patient experience remarkable. The result was the development of PTIFA - a training institute that provides an unprecedented depth of clinical theory, hands-on teaching and practice integration (including team training modules) in the field of facial rejuvenation (botulinum toxin, fillers, lasers, and more).
Dr. Roberts is recognized by Dentistry Today as one of the top 100 CE speakers. Known for his dedication for pushing for excellence and being on the leading edge of this field, Dr. Roberts is continually exploring how the properties of these treatments can help improve patient care. This has led him to explore in greater depth the therapeutic use of botulinum toxin in medicine and dentistry. His most recent lectures and teaching have covered TMD, parafunctional habits, periodontic, endodontic, surgical, implant, orthodontic, sleep apnea and the use of botulinum toxin in the treatment of headaches and migraines. Dr. Roberts is an in demand speaker and published author and co-author of numerous articles on botulinum toxin in dentistry for publications such as Dentistry Today, Teamwork, Oral Health and Inside Dentistry.
Through PTIFA, Dr. Roberts developed tiered and gated education material for physicians, dentists and nurses. PTIFA has the world's largest database of facial rejuvenation procedures of botulinum toxin, dermal fillers and other adjunctive treatments. The development of FACETEC photography and records software for facial rejuvenation and therapeutic treatments has demonstrated the benefits of comparison of before and after records to increase patient care. Dr. Roberts pioneered mid-face injection techniques which shocked the injector world, enabling less filler requirements in facial rejuvenation.
The inclusion of radio frequency and microneedling to his treatment armamentarium stimulates the collagen induction therapy and has the patients own immune system and natural healing process provide more volume. Dr. Warren Roberts is the co-founder and Clinical Director for the Pacific Training Institute for Facial Aesthetics. He is a 1977 graduate of the University of British Columbia Dentistry. He is a well-known and respected Vancouver dentist whose services complement the aesthetic treatment provided by his wife, Dr. Janet Roberts. Together they co-founded A Smile Above (located in Coal Harbour, Vancouver, BC) and Roberts Dental & Facial Rejuvenation (located in Tsawwassen, BC) - two model aesthetic practices. Dr. Roberts has taken advanced education at the prestigious Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, as well as at the Frontier Institute (formerly the California Center for Advanced Dental Studies).
Dr. Roberts currently acts as the University of British Columbia's Dean's Advisor on Indigenous Affairs, and Co-director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, as well as a part-time clinical professor in the Department of Oral Health Sciences, Division of General Dentistry.
