We have a registered herd of quality Gelbvieh, Angus and Balancer (Angus/Gelbvieh cross). 5D Cattle Co. is a small family owned operated cattle ranch... Our goal is to produce quality seedstock for producers who want to add new quality genetics to the herd. We have an excellent herd sire and supplement with AI... The commercial herd is primarily located on the Diamond Dot ranch near Portales, NM, owned and operated by our good friend and associate Lynn Preuit. When first starting out, we acquired a few Gelbvieh cows in the original group and were immediately impressed with their mothering abilities, milk production, excellent calves and general hardiness. As our herd expanded, we focused more and more on developing the purebred Gelbvieh collection as one of our cornerstones.
