8th & AK, LLC has always had an intense fascination with the occult and astrology from a young age. The AK or Atmakaraka is sometimes simply referred to as the "soul" planet in the Jaimini tradition and is one of the primary Karakas for the individual's consciousness. Ernst Wilhelm, the creator of Kala software and our teacher, considers this to be the planet through which we are born. Parashara considers the 8th bhava to be the "cavity" or "flaw"; it is sometimes associated with major upheaval in life, among other signfications. Perhaps you have had times like these, as well.
