The SBPI is a synergy emanating from the coming together of a group of like minded persons with a proven track record in promoting biotechnology in the country. Most of them have played a part or have witnessed land mark events in biotechnology in the country. The Founding Members of SBPI include former scientists, technocrats and policy makers of the Government of India with a track record of proven research management, research and policy development for promotion of biotechnological innovations, technology development and up-scaling.
