Dr. Brant Hassell

Dr. Brant Hassell is a native Floridian. He received his Bachelor's degree in biology and ethics from New College of Florida in 1998. He graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004, and has been providing excellent medicine and client service to the pets and people of Washington DC since that time. Dr. Hassell's professional interests are varied. He has strong interests in dentistry & oral surgery, ultrasound, internal medicine, pain management, and behavior. He has always been a big fan of the kitties, and is very sensitive to the special needs of our cat friends.Dr. Hassell lives in Brookland with his wife who is an executive chef. They share their home with three cats-Marion, Adrian, and Eudora. When he is not vetting, Dr. Hassell's hobbies include cycling, playing bass, and creating mosaic art.

Dr. Chloe Raftery

Dr. Chloe Raftery is a native of San Francisco, California who recently made the District of Columbia her home. Dr. Raftery graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in Psychology. After college, she spent many years working in the veterinary field before obtaining her DVM from Western University of Health Sciences in Southern California. Before working at District Vet she worked at a busy general practice in Whittier, California. Dr. Raftery's experiences include working with dogs, cats as well as exotic animals. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, oncology, internal medicine and client education. She also hopes to obtain her acupuncture certificate within the next couple of years. In her free time, Dr. Raftery enjoys traveling, hiking, spending time with her dog and cat Oz and Willow, and exploring everything DC has to offer.

Dr. Connie Lin

Dr. Connie Lin joined the District Vet team in July of 2019. She is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin - Madison School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining the team at District Vet, Dr. Lin completed an internship at an emergency and specialty hospital in the DMV area. Dr. Lin enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but her clinical interests include internal medicine, oncology, and geriatric care. She is thrilled to join a team that is committed to providing the most compassionate and quality care to all of their patients and understands the unique bond between people and their furry companions. In her spare time, Dr. Lin enjoys hiking, exploring DC's food scene, reading, and spending time with her two cats.

Dr. Dan Teich

Dr. Dan Teich received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University in 2003. Since that time, he has been practicing medicine in the DC Metropolitan area where his practice has focused on serving the unique needs of pets and clients in an urban setting. He has also served as the medical director for the Washington Humane Society, finding forever homes for homeless pets and assisting DC's too-often forgotten pet population. With a passion for veterinary medicine that developed in childhood, the foundation for Dr. Teich's practice is providing compassionate care and nurturing a lifelong bond with both clients and their pets. His practice philosophy is that clinicians need to first seek to understand the clients' needs and goals, recognizing that no two clients or patients are the same. Moreover, Dr. Teich recognizes that great veterinary care doesn't just mean practicing good medicine. Great veterinary care requires a persistent focus on delivering the very best client experience possible in a relaxed and comfortable environment. D.C.'s pet owning population are discerning connoisseurs of pet services and products and have come to expect the very best.

Dr. Dani Walker

Dr. Walker is no longer seeing routine appointments at District Vet, but will from time-to-time be on the appointment schedule. Dr. Dani Walker joined the District Vet team in May of 2015. She attended The Ohio State University where she earned both a Bachelor's Degree in Biology in 2008 and then her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Since graduation, she has spent time practicing in Virginia and Maryland. As a resident of Eckington, she is happy to now be working so close to home. Dr. Walker believes that the best part of general medicine is developing a connection with both the patient and the client; she is thrilled to be part of such an incredible team and an environment that shares that belief. In her spare time, Dr. Walker enjoys cooking (and eating), running (necessary after all of the eating), traveling the world, and spending time with her husband, the world's best cattle dog, and her two cats.

Dr. Julie London

Dr. London is no longer in the DC Metro area, but is still doing telemedicine consults for District Vet. Originally from Maryland, Dr. Julie London moved to Florida after receiving her undergraduate degree from Towson University. There, she worked in state government to protect Florida's coastal environment before switching gears to pursue veterinary medicine. Dr. London is a 2016 graduate from the University of Florida (Go Gators) where she earned joint degrees in Veterinary Medicine and Public Health. After graduation, her husband's job took them to the central coast of California where she worked as a general practitioner in a busy small animal clinic. Work moved again and she and her husband relocated to Washington, DC, in 2018; she joined District Veterinary Hospital in March 2018.

Dr. Laura Sloan

Dr. Sloan is a Midwest native from Indiana. She completed her undergraduate degree at Indiana University. She then went on to complete her degree of veterinary medicine at Tufts University - Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine. After vet school, Dr. Sloan pursued a specialized year of training at an emergency and referral hospital in San Diego. Dr. Sloan is thrilled to have made DC her home where she enjoys hiking, exploring museums, and enjoying what good food the area has to offer.
