GEFCU was formed in 1931 as a financial cooperative to provide a way for its members to save money and obtain loans. We are the oldest credit union in Austin serving not only Travis County but also all of the counties that border Travis County. Over the years, our credit union has expanded beyond its roots of serving postal and federal employees to serving many different groups in the Austin area... Be aware of increased fraudulent activity. We have received reports of members getting fraudulent calls and or text messages trying to obtain account or debit card information by posing as our fraud department. We will never initiate a call, email or text message asking for online login information, account numbers, Social Security number or other personal information. If you feel you have fallen for one of these scams, please call us at 512-339-9812 so we can assist you with a solution. Monitor your accounts regularly and report any suspicious transactions immediately.
