Dr. Lura "Pepi" Klecka

Born and raised in San Antonio, Dr. Klecka graduated from MacArthur High School, and went on to attend TAMU Veterinary School ('78). She has spent 26 years as a veterinary practice owner, and 9 years doing relief work in and around San Antonio. She is a member of AVMA, TVMA and VMABC. She has two daughters and two grandsons, and enjoys spending time with family and traveling the world.

Dr. Tamara Oesterling

Dr. Tamara Oesterling is a native Texan and attended Texas A&M University. After completion of her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Mississippi State University in 1995, she moved to Kansas City. There she served as Director of Veterinary Services and primary surgeon for a large No-Kill shelter. Dr. Oesterling continues to provide assistance to lost and abandoned animals through donations of time and services. Dr. Oesterling's professional experience also includes three years of hospital management, four years in Feline Practice, three years in pharmaceutical research and development for Pfizer Animal Health, and has been a guest lecturer for the American College of Veterinary Pharmacists. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Association of Shelter Veterinarians, and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Dr. Oesterling mentors students for the Boerne, Texas 4H veterinary Science Program, and her column, Paws for Thought, is published every Tuesday in the Boerne Star. Her hobbies include gardening, cooking, shooting trap, and horseback riding. She has 3 dogs and 5 cats of her own.

Tinker Belle

Tinker is an Umbrella Cockatoo born in 2003. She came to live at Heart of the Hills Vet Center in February 2012. She has a lot to say and can be very demanding at times. She gets into a lot of trouble which makes for good stories for Dr. Oesterling's Newspaper Column. A very tame and friendly Parrot who gives "kisses" and is happy to meet anyone, espcially children.
