Our role is to ensure the protection of liquor taxation and the preservation of liquor business transactions to continue the development of kokushu in Japan... In order to continuously improve the production of kokushu, we provide state-of-the-art knowledge and research regarding new techniques, ingredients, and markets to our members. Furthermore, in addition to providing support for law enforcement regarding taxing and labeling of liquors, JSS also proposes revisions to laws regarding alcohol regulation, sanitization, bottle recycling, and so on to the government to keep laws relevant and up to date... The koji culture that creates kokushu is an essential part of Japanese food and lifestyle. JSS also aims to spread awareness and supportive information regarding kokushu by hosting a variety of events, seminars, and promotional campaigns both domestically and internationally.
