Hello colleagues! My name is Josh Little. I have worked in public education for over 15 years. I have experience as a classroom teacher, building administrator, content coach, and curriculum coordinator. I have been blessed over the years to have received tremendous training and support in order to work successfully with the most at-risk student populations. I believe the foundation of classroom success begins with the climate and culture within the building and classroom. Early in my educational career I determined that I would take control of what I could, and that was my classroom. I sought out training from proven leaders such as Dr. Spencer Kagan, Harry Wong, Anthony Muhammad, Geoffrey Canada, Principal Kafele, Mark Boynton and more. I took pieces from each experience and molded them together to form a powerful training session called Implementing Effective Behavior Management/Improving Climate and Culture. Once I was able to implement successful behavior management strategies and gain complete control of my class, I was able to focus on instruction and student achievement. After many years of classroom success, I made a transition to the district level where I have been able to focus on curriculum development and implementation. The focus of my professional development and training sessions have been in the area of Science and Health Education, Classroom Management, and Improving School Culture and Climate. Continual research and practice has led to the development of key instructional guides and effective workshops and conferences. As I have expanded my role as a content coach and educational consultant, I am proud to say that I have been able to share my practices with even more educators, allowing for greater student success. Hello colleagues! My name is Melissa Little. I have worked in public education for over 15 years. My focus has been with early childhood. I have experience working as a pre-school teacher, elementary teacher, ECSE/ECDD teacher, Title 1 reading/literacy specialist, and elementary summer school administrator. I have had an opportunity to receive the most valuable training and experience to help meet the needs of our most struggling learners at the earliest of ages. That training includes: Orton Gillingham, Grape Seed, Kagan Cooperative Learning, START (autism training), Writing without Tears, and more. These experiences have helped me design lessons and implement strategies to work with students as young as 2 years of age, some with severe learning disabilities, and still be able to demonstrated student growth and achievement. Watching my students succeed has motivated me to share the research and practices I have put in place.
