My name is Joseph Morgridge, creator of Morgritech. I studied mechanical engineering (BEng) and advanced engineering design (MSc) at university. Both courses were varied and inclusive of a wide range of subjects from electronics to software and mechanics, however I found early on after my undergraduate studies that a career as a "mechanical-software-electronics" engineer is extremely hard to find, and rightly so, as each of these roles is quite involved. Trust me I know; I have worked full time as a mechanical engineer/designer for a few years and have collaborated with electrical/electronics and software engineers on various projects. Nevertheless I started learning robotics in my spare time to feed my interest in areas beyond mechanical engineering/design. I narrowed my interest down to robot arms a.k.a articulated robots a.k.a industrial robots which I learned about and was lucky enough to work with during my postgraduate studies...
