The group was formed in 2015 at a time when women were engaging local alcohol brewing and the women were unable to meet their daily basic needs, families would go to bed without meals. The need to educate the women on their rights and effective income generating activities has been pursued by the group to reduce the gap in illiteracy levels and lower the impact of harmful traditional beliefs and practices. This has resulted in improved self-esteem among women, better proper health through food security among the already trained few groups and an active and free participation in group and local activities. Our activities have since attracted more women to form a network and registered under an umbrella of 52 women groups with many untrained women
