One By One Center is a 501(c)(3) organization created to satisfy the needs of adolescents who cannot be with their parents to no fault of their own. The goal is to provide a safe and stable residential environment that serves as a bonus or alternate family to those in care. It is the belief of our founder Allycia Strother, that healing is a collaborative endeavor that requires nonjudgmental compassion... At One By One Center, we believe that children should be raised by their biological families whenever possible. In situations where residential care cannot be evaded children may exhibit high-risk, out-of-control behaviors due to complex…... At One By One we address healing through the Trauma Informed Care approach. Child traumatic stress happens when a child experiences traumatic events or situations that upset and overwhelm his or her ability to cope.
