Alton White

Alton White brings 46 years of expertise to Southeast Community Health Systems (SCHS). In the realm of nonprofits, he has seven years of experience. As the Pharmacist-in-Charge at Southeast Community Health Systems, Mr. White works closely to interpret prescriptions, accurately fill them, and confer with other health professionals on appropriate medications. Additionally, Mr. White counsels SCHS' providers on alternative treatment ideas and counsels patients on their health issues and the medications being used to treat them. Before joining SCHS, Mr. White held various positions at different institutions, including Staff Pharmacist, Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacy Supervisor, Pharmacy Preceptor, and Director of Pharmacy. These institutions include Charity Hospital and VA Hospital Pharmacy in New Orleans, Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center, Katz & Besthoff (K&B), Eckerds, Bienville Medical Center Pharmacy, and Fred's Pharmacy. Outside of work, Alton volunteers at Health Fairs and serves as an Informational Speaker at schools, which has helped shape his communication skills in his role as a Pharmacist in a community setting. During his free time, Mr. White enjoys watching sporting events, both at home and live. He likes to relax by fishing.

Arissa Williams Grizzle

Arissa Williams Grizzle brings 29 years of expertise to Southeast Community Health Systems. Her nursing experience includes higher education, clinical education, emergency room, oncology, med-surg, and home health care. As Southeast Community Health Systems Director of Nursing and Infection Control Coordinator, Arissa oversees the nursing department, the organization's Infection Control Program, and employee health. Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, Arissa held positions as Hospital Educator and ER nurse at Our Lady of the Lake Assumption Hospital, Clinical Educator at Baton Rouge General Hospital, Nursing and Allied health director at LA Technical College, and Assistant Director of Nursing at Sunshine Home Health Care. During her time off, Arissa likes to watch sports, especially football and basketball. She also enjoys listening to sports podcasts and watching crime shows. Her priorities in life are her faith and her family. Arissa lives in Belle Rose with her husband, Marc, and their six children (Raenissa, Raelyn, Ray, Kaitlin, Kaziah, and Kadrian). She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Benjamin Larisey

Benjamin Larisey has been a natural advocate, listener, and provider of empathy long before he realized his calling to be a clinical social worker. Like most of us, Benjamin struggled to find a profession that allows him to do what he loves, which for him is to witness and be part of someone's journey toward their own success. In the years since then, he has held positions as a community-based therapist, advocate, school-based therapist, coordinator of behavioral health, and most recently the Director of Behavioral Health at Southeast Community Health Systems. Much of his expertise is in leadership, working with trauma victims, marriage problems, grief, depression, and anxiety, to name a few. He is an Eagle Scout. He and his wife were presented the Red Heart Award by the YMCA for feeding the homeless. He was also granted the Good Citizenship Award from the Sons of the American Revolution. Most recently, he has been part of a national coalition to provide mental health assessments to some of the most vulnerable and traumatized migrants who have sought asylum in the United States. He is a native of Baton Rouge where graduated from Broadmoor High School and then Louisiana State University for both undergraduate and graduate school. He then attended Louisiana State University in Shreveport where he received a second master's degree in health care administration. He now lives in Central, Louisiana with his wife and five beautifully active children. He enjoys woodworking and hopes to witness more success and happiness from the people for whom he leads, counsels, and builds.

Christopher Givens

Christopher Givens is a Family Nurse Practitioner board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Givens began his career in the medical sciences in 2010 after obtaining his Associate in Applied Science in Medical Radiologic Technology. In 2012, he completed his Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing from Southwest Mississippi Community College in Summit, Mississippi. Givens previously worked as a medical-surgical registered nurse for five years while continuing his education. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from William Carey University in 2015 and his Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2017. His previous experience as a nurse practitioner includes family practice and internal medicine practice in the outpatient and inpatient settings. He currently lives in McComb, Mississippi with his wife-Tera-and his daughter-Kenna.

Dr. Hall was born in Baton Rouge. He attended both Louisiana State University and Southern University. Corey received his medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN, and completed his residency training in family medicine at the Harrisburg Family Medicine Residency Program in Harrisburg, PA. Dr. Hall has been a medical doctor for over 20 years, 17 of those years spent providing high-quality healthcare to communities all over Louisiana. In his spare time, Dr. Hall enjoys listening to many genres of music, playing jazz guitar, fishing, canoeing, hunting, and movies.

Diana Edens

Diana Edens started her journey to become a counselor in 2007. Even from a young age, she knew that she wanted to help others and found that helping others navigate negative life events and emotions was the best route to take. Edens graduated from Walden University with a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling in 2014. She has been a part of the Southeast Community Health Systems team as a school-based counselor since 2019. She currently holds an LPC license with the state of Louisiana. Edens loves spending time with her students while at work and with her own children when she is not. She owns a thrift store and enjoys fixing things from furniture to toys in her spare time.

Dr. Alecia Cyprian - CEO

Alecia Cyprian, Ph.D. joined Southeast Community Health Systems as its chief executive officer in 2014. Since her appointment, Cyprian has provided strategic direction for the non-profit healthcare organization in communities of high need in four Southeast Louisiana parishes. She thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the organization's reach. Cyprian is a board of director and serves as board chair of the Louisiana Primary Care Association, a board member for the Greater Hammond Chamber of Commerce, Advisory Committee for Petra College and National Association of Community Health Centers Legislative Committee & Health Center Excellence and Training Co-Chair. Prior to joining Southeast, she worked in higher education for 18 years as a director, dean, and assistant vice president providing oversight of enrollment management and student finance in addition to having principal roles in ensuring state and federal program compliance. Cyprian earned a master's degree and Doctor of Philosophy in Administration from the University of New Orleans. Dr. Alecia Cyprian is the current CEO and at her helm, the organization became the first Gold Advocacy Center of Excellence in Louisiana. SCHS continues to not only provide quality and affordable healthcare but also supports the local economy by providing a great workplace.

Heather Muse is a Nurse Practitioner at Southeast Community Health Systems. She attended Southeastern Louisiana University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2008. Dr. Muse worked as an RN in various areas across the nursing field. While working in the operating room, she pursued and completed a second degree from Southeastern Louisiana University, graduating in 2014 with a Master of Science in Nursing. Upon graduation, Dr. Muse began her tenure at Southeast Community Health Systems as a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She works as a primary care provider, caring for individuals of all ages across the lifespan while collaborating with the patient and other healthcare professionals to provide complete and quality care. Dr. Muse returned to Southeastern Louisiana University and obtained her third degree, a Doctor of Nursing Practice, in 2021. She strives to exhibit leadership within the community as well as the healthcare system, and continually works to ensure that all patients have access to quality healthcare. Dr. Muse is an active member of several professional organizations including The American Association of Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau, the International Honor Society of Nursing. Dr. Todd Hartsfield

Dr. Todd Hartsfield provides dental care for the underserved and special needs patients 3 days a week at Southeast Community Health Systems. As a native of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Hartsfield graduated from Loyola Dental School in New Orleans in 1970. He served two years as a U.S. Army dentist, including a tour in South Vietnam. While in Vietnam, he started a dental training program for Buddhist monks at the Buddhist Center in Qui Nhon. Dr. Hartsfield's 51-year career has included private practice in rural Louisiana and Canada, public health dentistry, and dental education. He spent 20 years in Canada training, supervising, and working alongside dental therapists. As the Dental Director for the Inter-Tribal Council of Arizona for 5 years, he trained Tribal members to develop and implement oral health promotion programs. Dr. Hartsfield was an Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ASDOH), Associate Clinical Director at Dental Care West, a private practice model clinic that is part of ASDOH, and full-time faculty in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency Program for 9 years. Dr. Hartsfield and his wife Bette', moved back to Louisiana in December 2015.

Over the course of her nursing career, she primarily worked in the areas of telemetry, medical-surgical, and intensive care. Southeast Community Health Systems (SCHS) is a non-profit voluntary organization: The mission of Southeast Community Health Systems is to provide quality, affordable healthcare to all patients in underserved areas, and to improve the health and wellness of the communities we serve. It is the responsibility of the Board of Directors to monitor, oversee and provide overall direction for SCHS in furtherance of the Mission, approve the planning and selection of organizational policies, programs, and services. These responsibilities are articulated in further detailed in SCHS BYLAWS in Article III, section 3, Duties and Responsibilities. Southeast Community Health Systems is the recipient of a grant from the federal government to operate as a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). FQHCs are non-profit or public entities that serve designated medically under-served populations. To qualify as a FQHC, the health center must demonstrate that it is responsive to the needs of the population it serves. For the Board of Directors, this means that the Board must be composed of a majority of members who are health center patients and whose composition broadly reflects that of the community at large. The application requests personal information related to your role as a prospective Board member, including information specifically related to the aforementioned FQHC requirements regarding Board composition. Conflict of Interest Policy: Health center bylaws or written corporate board approved policy include provisions that prohibit conflict of interest by board members, employees, consultants, and those who furnish goods to the health center. No board member shall be an employee of the health center or an immediate family member of an employee. The Chief Executive may serve only as an ex-officio member of the board (45 CFR Part 74.42 and 42 CFR part 51c.304 (B)).

Ms. Paula McNabb

Currently serving as the esteemed Mayor of Greensburg, she has dedicated her life to the betterment of St. Helena Parish and its community. Throughout her tenure as Mayor, Paula McNabb has exemplified strong leadership and a deep commitment to enhancing the lives of the residents in Greensburg. Nanette Bester brings 25 Years of expertise to Southeast Community Health Systems. As Southeast Community Health Systems' Director of Outreach and Enrollment, Nanette works closely with individuals to obtain insurance through The Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, and Medicare. She also works in collaboration with various community partners to bring awareness to the community about the various services being offered at Southeast Community Health Systems. Bester leads Southeast Community Health Systems' Outreach team. Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, Nanette held positions as Community Health Educator, Community Liaison, Case Manager, and HR Director. In the realm of nonprofits, her area of responsibility spans from being a director at a group home, developing programs for at-risk youth, working with elderly patients in community group homes, and currently serves as the Social Services Director for her local church. She is a faithful volunteer with The American Red Cross and The United Way. During her off time, Nanette likes to travel and spend time with her family. She is an avid sports fan and likes to attend various sporting events. Nanette lives in Petal, MS with her husband (Willie), daughter (Latasha), and her granddaughter (Sabreya).

Before joining Southeast Community Health Systems, Walker spent over 20 years in leadership roles in public healthcare and human resources in Northern California. She received a Bachelor of Science Degree of Psychology from California State University and a Master of Science Degree of Business Management from Argosy University. She is currently pursuing an Executive Doctorate's Degree in Healthcare Administration. Walker became a member of the Southeast's Leadership Team in 2019 where she currently provides oversight over organizational policies, risk management, and regulatory governance compliance. In her free time, she loves social events, traveling, and is an avid collector of multicultural figurines. She is a Tangipahoa Parish native.

Her experience as a nurse practitioner includes family practice in the outpatient setting for patients of all ages. She currently lives in Summit, Mississippi with her husband Shannon and has 4 children, 2 daughters, and 2 sons.

In the years since then, she's held positions in Baton Rouge, St. Tammany, and St. Helena before landing in Tangipahoa parish. Cassel received her Bachelor of Dental Hygiene from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1993. Cassel specializes in both adult and pediatric. She has a soft spot for educating elementary students on the importance of good oral health habits and nutrition. She is a resident of Tangipahoa parish. During her free time, she enjoys being with her family and traveling.

Theresa Bankston brings over 20 Years of financial healthcare expertise to Southeast Community Health Systems. As Southeast Community Health Systems' Chief Financial Officer, Theresa works closely to direct and oversee the financial activities of the organization. Theresa ensures that the company's financial statements are fairly stated and meet the compliance reporting requirements for federal, state, and local agencies. Bankston prepares financial analysis, budgets and provides strategic planning recommendations to the CEO. Prior to joining Southeast Community Health Systems, Theresa held positions as CFO for a non-profit critical access hospital and many years working at for-profit specialty hospitals; having the inner working knowledge of both not-for-profit and for-profit healthcare companies has provided her a solid foundation as CFO for Southeast Community Health Systems. During her off-time Theresa likes to swim, watch LSU sporting events, and spend time with her family and friends. Theresa lives in Zachary near her three children and five granddogs.
