Dr. Shams Pirzadeh

Dr. Shams did his rheumatology training at Johns Hopkins Hospital. His fellowship in Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins Hospital was from 1971 - 1973 and he was an instructor during 1975. Following this, Dr. Shams moved back to St. Agnes Hospital where he had his residency in internal medicine. Dr. Shams founded the rheumatology department at St. Agnes Hospital and trained medical residents at that institution for 30 years. He served as the Director of the Rheumatology clinic at St. Agnes Hospital from 1990 - 2007. Dr. Shams is a Founding Fellow of American College of Rheumatology and has dedicated his life to care for patients with rheumatic diseases and teaching of medical residents for which he received numerous awards.
