Dr. Prathiba Sharan

Dr. Prathiba Sharan has been a practicing physician since 2001 after finishing her medicine in Bangalore medical college and has acquired expertise in the fields of neurorehabilitation and neuropsychology since 2009. She has a Fellowship in Neurological Rehabilitation from Apollo Hospitals Hyderabad, India. In addition to this, she is also a qualified psychological counselor, a certified neuropsychologist, ashtanga yoga practitioner, and a motivational speaker because she strongly believes in approaching rehabilitation and the practice of medicine in a holistic way. Her team has helped thousands of neurologically disabled patients reach their maximum possible functioning potential and also empowered their caregivers to manage their changed circumstances better. Being a Junior National Champion in swimming, yoga, and roller skating, Dr. Prathiba understands the ‘art of winning' even from adverse situations and has a Never-Give-Up attitude. Innovating on the move and customizing therapies to suit individual patients' and their families' needs come very naturally to her, and she has mastered this, resulting in better and more consistent results, thus inspiring her colleagues to follow the same. She believes that empathy and passion is her key for success. She has also conducted hundreds of workshops in stress management, soft skills training, and lifestyle modification programs. Her favorite hobbies being painting, drawing, artwork, stitching, cooking, and beliefs strongly in spirituality.

Dr. Sharan Srinivasan

Dr. Sharan Completed his MBBS from the prestigious Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute (BMCRI) 1992-1993 and is the first student to pass DNB neurosurgery from Karnataka state- completed in 2000. Dr. Sharan has performed over 8000 major brain and spine surgeries. He is a member of many national and international professional organizations and has given invited talks & chaired sessions in many regional, national & international conferences. He has been nominated as the sole Indian national representative in the managing committee of the AOSNR - Asia Oceania Society for NeuroRehabilitation. He was a part of the core organizing committee in charge of WCNR2018 @ Mumbai (World Congress for NeuroRehabilitation) Dr.Sharan was followed by Worlds Leading Media for performing dystonia surgery while the patient was playing guitar. The news went viral the world over and got millions of views within 24Hrs, a proud moment for all Indians. He is a specialist in Stereotactic & Functional Neurosurgery, Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), and Neuro Rehabilitation. Along with Dr. Sanjiv C.C, a senior consultant neurologist & Movement Disorders specialist, he has set up the Jain Institute of Movement Disorders & Stereotactic Neurosurgery (JIOMSN). This facility is dedicated to treating patients with Movement Disorders (like Parkinson's disease, tremors, dystonia, etc.), Spasticity (following a stroke, spinal cord injuries, cerebral palsy, etc.) & intractable pain. This is probably one of the few such Centres in India that is dedicated to this work, especially RF & other ablative surgeries! Along with his wife Dr. Prathiba Sharan, a medical doctor & Neuropsychologist has started NewRo - Karnataka's first (and probably a few in India) ‘standalone' dedicated multidisciplinary center for Neuro Rehabilitation - helping patients who are neurologically disabled after a major stroke, head injury, brain infections, spinal cord problems, Parkinsonism, etc. Dr. Sharan has pioneered to conceptualize the idea of integrating Ayurveda into Neuro-rehabilitation and has initiated the Vertical of AYURNEWRO- An Integrated (Fusion) Rehab Care Unit focusing on working from Sickness to Wellness! Dr. Sharan heads a Bio-design & Bio-engineering team of doctors and engineers (NewRo Kaaya Pte Ltd) who are designing many innovative, affordable medical devices for the effective rehabilitation of neurologically disabled patients.
