BILLY BISHOP MUSEUM

Billy Bishop Museum is a non-profit organization committed to preserving local history, including the childhood home of Victoria Cross recipient William Avery "Billy" Bishop. The Museum seeks to engage our community by connecting local stories to the Canadian war experience and broader currents of global history... The museum is located in the Bishop home. The Victorian house, built in 1884, is located in the heart of Owen Sound and it is a beautiful example of Queen-Anne style architecture. Air Marshal William Avery "Billy" Bishop was born and lived in the home until he was 17 years old when he left to attend the Royal Military Collage in Kingston.
