Helen Villar

Helen is a designer and art teacher. She has trained in cultural management and organizations and led a creative business based on fair trade with artisans from vulnerable contexts in Argentina. She works with interdisciplinary proposals in projects with Uruguayan and international artists, as well as in strengthening ties between educational institutions and the local community. She was a member of the Organizing Committee of the ea! Illustration and Reading Festival.

Virginia Brown

Virginia a children's book writer, teacher and English-Spanish translator. She has worked as a librarian, and has led creative writing workshops and reading promotion in educational centers. She has trained in the Harvard Project Zero Visible Thinking Routines, Tinkering Fundamentals: a constructionist approach to STEM learning (Digital) and in reading promotion in the Banco del Libro de Venezuela (Digital), the American Library Association (Digital) and the Center for Literacy in Primary Education (London). During her time as a librarian at Colegio Yvynará, Cerro Largo, the library project was awarded first prize for National Creative Writing and Reading in Educational Centers. Her books have received three Bartolomé Hidalgo awards from the Uruguayan Book Chamber, several prizes from the Ministry of Education and Culture, and have been selected by the Plan Nacional de Lectura (Argentina), Biblioteca Mínima ProLee (Uruguay), Plan Ceibal (Uruguay) and the IBBY Reading Committee (Mexico).
