CT PRIME

CT PRIME is an association sponsored non-profit captive insurance company, sponsored by CREC, owned and operated by its members and open to all CT towns and schools. The captive structure allows the pooling of health benefit risk, optimizing flexibility as commercial market conditions change. For the 2020-21 program year, CT PRIME transferred 100% of its members' stop loss risk to Gerber Life, an A rated commercial insurer... The captive currently offers group-purchased health benefit stop loss coverage to qualified municipalities and school districts. Members also enjoy access to preferred rates for a public sector tailored employee assistance program, claims audits, and diabetes management. CT PRIME is exploring additional risk and cost management services and health care advocacy for complex claims.
