Alex is an English teacher and Assistant Principal leading Teaching and Learning at Great Yarmouth Charter Academy. Alex uses her knowledge of teaching and learning practices to ensure that all students are given the opportunity to thrive and have successful outcomes during their time at school. Alex has previously worked across the Inspiration Trust and within specialist SEMH provision and believes that first-class teaching is key to success for all students.

Claire Gregson-Rix

Claire is a Geography teacher and Charter Academy's Vice Principal responsible for Inclusion. Mrs Gregson-Rix has worked with pupils at Charter and the former Great Yarmouth VA High School for a number of years in both pastoral and curricular roles. Prior to teaching Claire worked for the charity organisation ‘Aspire' which is a foundation based at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, London that encourages independent living for people with spinal injuries and promotes inclusive practices through sport to those with varying disabilities. Part of her role with the charity was to engage with other organisations to raise awareness of disabilities and special educational needs, to enable access and provide opportunity for inclusion for both children and adults in a range of contexts. Claire has an extensive knowledge of education, holding a Masters in Education, the National SENCo Award, accreditation from the British Psychological Society for Psychometric testing and is currently studying for a Masters in Leading Inclusive Education. Mrs Gregson-Rix believes and promotes that all pupils should receive a high quality education where their needs are understood and pupils are prepared for their futures.

Dean has a vast amount of teaching experience in a range of different education settings. He was a Vice Principal within another Inspiration Trust school for a number of years before taking on this Headship. Dean's passion is for community engagement through enriching pupil experiences at school. Dean has led Great Yarmouth Charter School since April 2023 and is focusing on raising Charter's success to enable it to compete amongst some of the top schools in the country. Dean's vision for Great Yarmouth Charter Academy is to inspire pupils to excel in everything they do and have a passion for what they learn. Furthermore, he wants pupils to develop character and positive attitudes while believing in themselves.

Sarah is a Science specialist and Great Yarmouth Charter's Assistant Principal for Attendance and SEND. In addition to her qualifications in Science, she also holds the NASENCo award, accreditation from the British Psychological Society for Psychometric testing and a Masters in Educational Leadership. She is fully committed to supporting all pupils in the school and believes that high-quality teaching is inclusive teaching. Sarah is motivated by challenge and is highly ambitious for the pupils that she teaches. Her own experiences have led her to believe that determination, hard work and a positive, ‘can do' attitude are the key to success. Prior to starting her career in teaching she spent a number of years working as a Scientific researcher and she has experience working within the Pharmaceutical industry. She continues to have a passion for research and believes that the development of policy and practice should be underpinned by strong, evidence-based research. Sarah has worked for the Inspiration Trust since 2014 and she has a strong track record of raising standards and providing effective support to pupils and families.

Sean Powell is a Senior Vice Principal who supports the senior team and subject leaders to develop the quality of the curriculum and pupils' achievement. Sophie Fabian is Assistant Principal for raising achievement at Charter and brings with her a wealth of knowledge on how to improve pupil outcomes. Sophie formerly held the role of Head of Maths at Charter and successfully built an outstanding team of Mathematicians and grew the department to extend their curriculum offer to include statistic's further Maths and most recently into A-level. Before coming into education Sophie studied finance and began her career in accountancy. Her love for teaching and supporting young children to achieve the very best led her to change career and get into education. Sophie has a passion for learning and supports all our pupils to gain the qualifications they need to take the next steps in their educational journey.

Tim is a science teacher and Charter Academy's Assistant Principal responsible for Behaviour and Culture. Tim has been with the Academy since its inception and has worked with pupils in every year group in both academic and pastoral settings. Tim uses his history of sporting achievement and his various team experiences to help drive the culture at Charter, where mutual respect and cooperation between pupils and staff is paramount. Tim will always be as visible and audible as he makes his way around the school. He believes that while adherence to the rules is important, the warmth that accompanies it is crucial to life here at the Academy. Seeing the pupils achieve and go on to achieve top-of-the-pyramid futures are just two of the reasons he enjoys working at Charter.
