Following the promulgation of the IRP 2019 and the relevant Ministerial determination gazetted on 25 September 2020, the Department will launch a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the roll out of the energy storage independent power producers (IPP) procurement programme (ESIPPPP). As per the requirements of the Determination, 513 megawatts (MW) of battery energy storage generation capacity should be procured by 2023.
