Owner Eric Zhu credits his father, Quig Zhu, who was a chef, for his passion and dedication to offering high quality, fresh and beautifully presented Japanese cuisine. As a child, he observed his father traveling around Japan and China, learning the finest cooking techniques, authentic recipes and food presentations. His father later owned and operated a Chinese restaurant in Nashville. Another family member, an uncle who was in the military stationed in Japan, also influenced Eric's meticulous approach to preparing and serving delicious food. Eric notes that his uncle, who loved to cook, taught him discipline, a commitment to excellence and that "the magic is in the details."
