PETVET URGENT CARE - Key Persons

Dr. Jen Christy

Dr. Jen Christy's roots run deep in Southern Ohio. After growing up in Dayton, Dr. Christy went on to complete her undergrad at Wright State University, and her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ohio State University. She is passionate about veterinary medicine in so many ways but finds it most rewarding when she can improve the lives of fur babies, and their human families. When she is not working, Dr Christy enjoys staying active! She loves anything fitness including weightlifting, kickboxing, yoga, swimming, and scuba diving. She is even a certified open water scuba diver. She also enjoys planning trips to warm places, especially the beach. Her newest hobby is learning to sail catamarans! However, as an avid reader, she does enjoy spending her time at home with her three cats: A black and white male names Tae, and two orange tabby brothers, Jack and Taz. Dr. Christy cannot wait to meet you and your pets!

Dr. Kelly Gersch

Dr. Kelly Gersch grew up on the east side of Cincinnati but fell in love with the river cities of Northern Kentucky while receiving her undergraduate degree from Northern Kentucky University. She went on to get her veterinary degree from Auburn University. For Dr. Gersch, the most rewarding part of veterinary medicine is playing a small role in the joy pet ownership gives to so many people. She loves to the challenge of explaining complex disease processes in clear terms to become a part of your pet's care team. She specifically loves any cases involving dermatology and endocrine disease. When she is not at home with her five wonderfully spoiled pets, the old lady, dachshund mix pack: Ruby, Nora, and Marley, and the unpredictable cat: duo Al and Edy, she can be found making her way through her travel bucket list with her husband Matt. Closer to home, Dr. Gersch and Matt enjoy renovating homes in the Cincinnati community so new families can come to experience the joy of living and working in such a wonderful place.

Dr. Suzanne Summe

Dr. Suzanne Summe grew up in the Northern Kentucky area where her roots run deep. She attended Northern Kentucky University for her undergraduate degree where she made life-long friends with Dr. Kelly Gersch. The two doctors are now taking on a new and exciting endeavor as the Medical Leads of PetVet Urgent Care. After receiving her bachelor's degree, Dr. Summe attended Auburn University where she graduated with honors. She moved back to the NKY/Greater Cincinnati area after finishing school, and completed a rotating and internal medicine internship to further hone her skills as a practitioner. Prior to joining PetVet, she worked in the fast-paced and exciting world of Emergency Medicine. During this time, she saw a variety of critically ill and complex cases and was able to learn from and work along-side highly skilled specialists in the field. Client communication and understanding are two of the highest priorities for Dr. Summe in her work. There is nothing better than knowing she and her client are on the same page about how to best take care of their pet. In addition to the client experience, she prides herself on striving to create a positive and productive work environment with her team. Outside of work, Dr. Summe has two cats named Delilah and JJ who she bottled raised as kittens and considers her feline children. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, traveling, and experiencing new cultures and foods. She is a life-long learner and is always up for trying something new and exciting. Dr. Summe is so excited to start this journey into urgent care and to be able to provide pet parents with timely and easily accessible care when they need it most!
