Dr. Ahmed Alkhalfawi was appointed as the Group Company Secretary of Emirates NBD in October 2022. H.E. Huda Sayed Naim AlHashimi was appointed as a Director of Emirates NBD Bank P.J.S.C. and Emirates Islamic Bank P.J.S.C. in February 2022.
H.E. AlHashimi is the Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs. As part of the responsibilities of her current position, H.E. AlHashimi leads the process of articulating the UAE Leadership's Vision, setting an ambitious long-term strategy. H.E. AlHashimi leads the setup and operation of Mohammed Bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation. She also leads the Government Accelerators and responsible for governance and institutional restructuring at the Prime Minister's Office.
H.E. AlHashimi has been chosen as a Board member of the "Digital School" as well as a member of the UAE Gender Balance Council and Dubai Women Establishment. H.E. Khalid Juma Al Majid was appointed as a Director of Emirates NBD Bank P.J.S.C. in February 2022. H.E. Al Majid is also the Vice Chairman of Juma Al Majid Group of Companies, the conglomerate Juma Al Majid Group, which is one of the recognized names in the United Arab Emirates with regional and global reach. H.E. served as the Vice Chairman of the Central Bank of the UAE from 2010 until 2019, and was a Director of National Bank of Dubai P.J.S.C. In June 2021, H.E. H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum was appointed as the Chairman of Emirates NBD in June 2011. Leading Dubai's aviation sector since 1985, Sheikh Ahmed is the President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), Chairman of Dubai Airports, and the Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline & Group.

Shayne Nelson is a veteran banker with an extensive career across many sectors of the industry. During Shayne's eight-year tenure as Group CEO of Emirates NBD, the bank's market capitalization has increased from AED 15.8 billion to around AED 90 billion. Emirates NBD's assets have grown from AED 308 billion to 700 billion over this period with a significant acquisition of DenizBank in Turkey for USD 2.7 billion successfully executed. Additionally, organic growth has continued with the bank having the largest market share in both Corporate and Retail banking in the UAE whilst leading the industry in the region with technology innovation. Emirates NBD has also continued its organic expansion and growth in Egypt, India and Saudi Arabia with the latter franchise receiving the most additional branch licenses of any foreign bank.
Shayne is a member of the Board of Directors for Emirates Islamic, Emirates NBD Capital Ltd., Emirates NBD Capital PSC, Tanfeeth, DenizBank A.Ş. Shayne's other previous high profile positions in the banking arena include Regional CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Middle East and North Africa for five years based in Dubai (2006 - 2010), Chairman of Standard Chartered (Pakistan) Limited, and Chairman of the Banking Advisory Council to the Board of the Dubai International Financial Centre.
He also held the position of Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of Standard Chartered Bank, Malaysia Berhad based in Kuala Lumpur.
Shayne's solid experience, across various functions and geographies, is a testament to his diverse background within banking. Earlier in his career, his positions included Standard Chartered Chief Risk Officer for Wholesale Banking based in Singapore, Regional Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking Audit for the Asia Pacific Region and India, as well as Regional Head of Credit in Hong Kong, China and North East Asia, with the latter two positions based in Hong Kong. He was also the Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking for Westpac Banking Corporation for Western Australia based in Perth.
A Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Shayne is also an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Managers. Shayne is married to Siti Mariana Abdullah, a Malaysian citizen and has two children. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family. He is also a passionate fisherman, for which he holds a world record.
