A few years later in 2016, I started, as many more have, making spoons. I met some great people and attended the first Great Scottish Spoon Hoolie with a friend and his lovely family. From there I was hooked and in every spare minute I created carvings. In fact, I got so enthused by carving that I gave myself tendonitis and tore some of the pulleys in my fingers! This wasn't caused by carving alone but carving and indoor rock climbing combined - two of my passions...
This was where I taught myself how to detail and relief carve. I took this knowledge and started to apply it to greenwoodworking. I made shrink-pots with lots of detail and various spoons over the next few years...
