CRATERWORKS - Key Persons


Dan Ward

Dan has been a trailer builder/metal fabricator for about 30 years. At the age of 40, he went back to school to get his masters in education and has been teaching for about 10 years. The last two years teaching welding/fabrication.

Krystal Locke

Krystal comes to CraterWorks with both a Bachelors of Science in Engineering Science and a Masters of Science in Renewable Energy Engineering. Through her work teaching with Oregon Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement (MESA), she refined her skills brought to our district educational outreach and has provided electronics instruction that have compliments lessons in new ways. Her background in making originated in the Shakespeare Festival's shops and has evolved into a passion of sharing in the magic with new members here at CraterWorks.

Nathan Smith

Our Education Project Developer is frequently referred to as our choreographer of awesome. Nathan is in charge of creating and delivering meaningful engagement with our school district students and micro schools in the facility.

Ross Kellogg

Born and raised on a small Southern Oregon farm, Ross Kellogg developed his shop-skills at an early age as the son of a woodworker. Since earning his BFA in Furniture Design from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2015, this proud "design nerd" has leveraged his passion crafting custom furniture, building sculptures and fluidly moving through all shop disciplines, with a specific focus on digital fabrication.

Ryan Wilcoxson

Ryan's history of making stuff started early in his youth building astonishingly unsafe bike ramps out of scrap wood and rusty nails. In the ensuing decades, he obtained his BA in Cinematic Arts & Technology, owned a San Francisco-based design studio, and founded a successful nonprofit makerspace in 2016. Today, he's launched a drone-based aerial mapping and imaging business and while that keeps him busy, Ryan is glad to be part of the Craterworks community and is here to help creative innovation thrive.
