In February of 2020, officials from the NC Department of Public Instruction approached the leadership of Chatham Charter School in Siler City (Chatham County) about replicating its high school program that focuses on college and workforce preparedness by maximizing the NC Career and College Promise. Central Carolina Academy was created as a replication school in Sanford (Lee County). Though the schools are separate entities, the partnership will allow them to pool many resources for staff and students.
