COOL-SAFE

Cool-Safe is the product stewardship scheme which currently collects and destroys refrigerants and other synthetic refrigerants (sometimes known as F-gases) across Aotearoa New Zealand. Cylinders containing recovered refrigerant are deposited by refrigeration professionals via an expanding collection network. The scheme is managed on behalf of the Trust for the Destruction of Synthetic Refrigerants... While we're a tad nerdy about synthetic refrigerants at Cool-Safe, we're aware that many Kiwis don't know much about refrigerants and how they harm the environment. This isn't something we'll change overnight - but we have a dream... New Zealand's government is aiming for a 35% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2035. At Cool-Safe, we're targeting a 90% reduction by 2035.
