The story of Green Future began long before formal establishment. The founder, George C. Eberwine, was raised on a 750-acre family farm in Coshocton County, Ohio, where the family has been very proactive with active reforestation and afforestation efforts for the purpose of conservation, land improvement, and carbon offset/sequestration. Their first small project began in 1998, followed by larger projects in the late 2000s and a large project in 2017. The United States is the country with the second most tree restoration potential globally, with over 254.5 million acres of reforestation potential. In the fight to combat global climate change, we cannot afford to leave this potential untapped. George Carter Eberwine is an extremely ambitious and motivated individual who is determined to make Green Future a sustainable business that creates real benefit to the environment and for American farmers. He grew up on a family farm in Coshocton County, Ohio where he learned to be a good steward of the land and its natural resources. His passion for conservation and the environment, combined with his loyalty to American farmers prompted him to found Green Future. He attended Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree cum laude with four majors: Biology, Chemistry, Political Science, and German. Following this undergraduate education, he moved to Germany where he completed one scientific internship in a biomedical research facility and another in a Biochemistry/BioTech startup. A long-term interest in aviation and technology, combined with a desire to serve, led him to apply to U.S. Air Force Officer Training School (OTS).(1,2) His application was successful and he attended OTS in 2019, commissioning as an Officer in the USAF.(1,2) Serving as an Acquisition Program Manager, he transferred to the U.S. Space Force in 2021 as part of the inaugural cohort of officers forming the new service, and is currently serving on active duty.(1,2) His professional and academic development has continued while serving in the military, with the addition of a formal business education to his experience in the family business; he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from American Military University in 2021. His hobbies include hiking, travel, flying, and spending time with his fiancée. He is passionate about the state of sustainable business practices on a global scale, about keeping up with current events without letting the day-to-day churn distract from larger long-term goals, and about always putting integrity first.
