REDSTONE COKE OVENS restoration in 2014 culminated the 15 year RHS project to preserve this site. The narrow gage railroad brought the coal from the coal mines eight miles and 3,000 feet above Redstone. These ovens were fired up to 2400ºF to cook the coal in to coking coal to be used in Osgood's steel mill in Pueblo.
