Robotic Advancement for Youth (RAY) was established with the primary goal of giving children a hands-on experience with the First Lego League, and hopefully, inspire them to pursue FLL as well as other activities that fall under the STEM fields of study... Last season was our first season competing in the First Tech Challenge. In that season, we expanded our knowledge greatly and went from knowing nothing about the challenge and it's components to becoming an award winning team. From last year, we had many achievements; miniature and considerable. These extensively ranged from our basic original ability to build and move the robot, to the victory of our first match, leading up to the winning of an award. Last year, we won the Judges Award in our first competition at Centreville High School. To continue competing for this year and the years to come; we had to find companies willing to sponsor our team. In conclusion, last season was a fantastic learning experience for our team.
