Ashley Ovens

Ashley is Southwest Michigan born and raised. She is currently working at an Animal Hospital and studying to be an LVT. She has worked with and adored animals her whole life and she loves educating others, especially children, about animals and animal care. She has a special place in her heart for reptiles and she has many of her own including rescues that she considers family.

Brandon Burks

Brandon is a student at Olivet College studying General Biology and Environmental Science. He became a part of Zoovolution through work contacts. He has a strong desire to help educate the public about animals and to help animals in general. His mission is to provide information to the community about the species they may or may not know, and to help people become more aware.

Jessica Spurr-Wagner - COO

Jessica has always had a passion for caring for others. She is a CNA and an RMA and has been in the medical field for over ten years. Zoovolution inspires her because of all the will power and tenacity everyone displayed in order to make things happen. She knew she could bring that same strength with her as well as knowledge on the administration side of things. Her guiding message is that humans are not the only ones on this planet and she loves being part of a team that helps to educate about wildlife without fear.

Kayla Kolberg - Founder

Kayla is the visionary and catalyst behind Zoovolution. She put the team together and leads the group. Born and raised in Southwest Michigan, she is an avid and passionate animal-lover and she has a bachelors degree in Natural Resources specializing in Endangered Species Biology. Growing up, she often took in strays to rehab or help to find homes. For over 20 years, she has worked with animals of all kinds, in different settings, including veterinary services, pet stores, zoos, wildlife rehabs and sanctuaries. While working alongside wildlife rehabilitators, she has aided with emergencies, transport, and care for many wounded Michigan animals. Currently she has many different species of animals that she cares for, and she considers them her animal ambassadors for Zoovolution. These include some incredible species such as Aldabra Tortoises, Dumerils Boas, Woma Pythons, Pink Toe Tarantulas and many more. Kayla actually first conceived of Zoovolution and it's name when she was 10 years old, and has been brainstorming and evolving the vision since then.

Meredith Keath

Meredith is a part of the genetics team in Zoovolution. She grew up in Southwest Michigan and she was born with a passion for animals. Horses are her favorite and she has ridden for 26 years. She has also worked on an ambulance for many years and she has a passion for saving all living things. She got into genetics 5 years ago when she started her cattery. She currently works with the Altai gene in cats. She loves being a part of the genetics team of Zoovolution and also looks forward to helping Zoovolution bring learning and conservation to a whole new level!

Stephany Arnold

Stephany is another proud Southwest Michigan native. She has always wanted to make a difference and so she studied nursing at Lake Michigan College and worked in the healthcare industry as her first job. Afterwards, she has also excelled in such careers as field engineer and also assisting the training manager for American Electric Power. Stephany has always wanted to contribute to the betterment of all animals. Specifically she puts this into action by advocating for pitbulls and educating about the misconceptions around these dogs. Zoovolution's vision is in alignment with her own beliefs and she can't wait to work further with the team.
