UMASS FOUNDATION

Founded in 1950, the University of Massachusetts Foundation, Inc., is a separate 501(c)(3) organization governed by a Board of Directors comprised of public and ex-officio directors. The primary role of the Foundation is managing the University's endowment, which has a current estimated value of $874 million. As a certified Massachusetts Chapter 180, not-for-profit corporation, the UMass Foundation is exempt from federal taxes under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
