David Camerlengo is Director of SEED Strategies, helping governments and industry across Australia achieve local economic impact through innovation, investment and international trade. SEED Strategies services clients such as Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ) and the Queensland Government. David is a mentor and strategist with LGAQ supporting local councils across Queensland achieve outcomes from their trade and investment agenda. David has also worked with agencies such as Trade & Investment Queensland (TIQ) and Queensland Treasury to support their trade and investment strategies, including the development of a trade and enterprise spine under the SEQ City Deal. David is also Principal - Open Innovation with technology startup Unearthed. Through Unearthed, David works with leaders in corporates to design their innovation agenda, access global capabilities and scan for technologies through open-innovation. David is also a Board Member of Life Sciences Queensland; the lead industry body advancing life sciences in Queensland. Prior to this, David was Trade & Investment Commissioner to North America for the Queensland government, leading the state's engagement in the region to create economic outcomes for Queensland. During this time, David helped hundreds of Austalian companies expand in North America and attracted productive Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). David led and facilitated numerous trade & investment missions for industry and Queensland political leaders including the Premier, Treasurer and cabinet Ministers. David was previously President of global design, engineering and advanced manufacturer, EGR. During his 10-year tenure with EGR, David helped grow the US operations to employ over 120 people and be a significant contributor to the global EGR Group. David is passionate about Australia's entrepreneurs and represented Queensland on the board of the Open Worldwide Innovation Network (OWIN) to create global pathways for Queensland companies. He was also a board member of the Australian American Chamber of Commerce in the USA. David holds a Master of Science in Technology Commercialisation (MSTC) from the University of Texas-Austin and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (B.ME) from Queensland University of Technology (QUT).
