John Terando

John has an extensive track record of over 35 years in executive-level roles, specializing in the management of mixed-use master planned and income property development. He has been instrumental in guiding the large-scale real estate development and investment for Griffin real estate entities, a venerable company with over a century of experience. As divisional president, John had comprehensive oversight and hands-on experience with all aspects of planning, developing, and constructing thousands of lots, homes, apartments, and income properties. He has managed assets with a cost basis of over $2 Billion including over 6,000 lots and homes, 2,000 apartments, and 10 assisted living projects in multiple states comprising over 1,200 units. In addition to his development experience, John has demonstrated acumen in marketing, lease- up, and operations of master-planned, multifamily, and assisted living facilities. He led the deposition of various classes of income properties, with gross proceeds exceeding $1 Billion. His skill in financial structuring and capitalization is evident through successfully arranging over $2 billion of equity and debt financing. John received his undergraduate degree from University of California, Los Angeles, and an MBA from San Diego State University. John is a licensed California real estate broker.

Julie Bratschie

Julie started her real estate career in 2011 at Heitman, LLC, a global real estate investment management firm with $43 billion in assets under management. She worked extensively on institutional value-add private equity and structured debt funds. Following Heitman, Julie worked at Latitude Management Real Estate Investors, a $2 billion first mortgage discretionary bridge debt fund focused on value-add and transitional properties with 50% of the fund allocation dedicated to multifamily assets. Here she supported the origination team by sourcing, underwriting, structuring, closing and asset managing investments. She also participated in preparation of Private Placement Memorandums and securing warehouse lines of credit. Most recently she was a Vice President at Westminster Capital Group, a high net worth family office. At Westminster she focused on acquisitions, asset management and dispositions covering multifamily, flex-office, office, medical office, industrial, student-housing, and storage investments. She was also responsible for loan origination and servicing. Julie attended the University of Dayton, where she earned a BS in Accounting and Finance in 2010, and an MBA in 2011.

Michael Schoellhammer

Michael began his real estate career in 2005 and has experience in acquisitions, lending, finance, and development. He has held the role of Director of Acquisitions focusing on multifamily and student housing properties at several family offices. He was also a Managing Director at RealtyMogul, a leading online real estate crowdfunding platform. At RealtyMogul he originated, negotiated, and closed nationwide real estate joint venture, preferred equity, and mezzanine investments in multifamily, office, and retail properties. He also formed and led the team responsible for acquiring multifamily properties owned directly by RealtyMogul. During his career Michael has been the deal lead for the acquisition of thousands of value-add apartment units. Michael has also originated and closed loans and has worked in land acquisition and development with a developer of master- planned communities and apartments. Michael has a JD from Loyola Law School, an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management, and a BA from UC Irvine. He is also a licensed attorney and California real estate broker.

Scott Ring

Scott has over 30 years of experience in real estate development and investment. He has held senior executive level positions for institutional, private, multi-state development and investment companies, (First City Properties, Inc. - Belzberg family, Casden Properties LLC - Alan Casden, and Griffin Real Estate Management - Griffin family). Scott has specialized in underwriting and financing large- scale master planned communities, multi-family, and commercial properties. During his career, he has negotiated over $4.0 billion of corporate and project financing using traditional debt, joint venture, private placement, and off-balance sheet structures, including the formation and capitalization of a privately owned apartment REIT comprising 90,000 apartments. Scott has directed the proactive management of the business operations including corporate strategic business planning, project feasibility, underwriting, and all aspects of the financial and managerial reporting functions. He has also led acquisitions, dispositions, and management of multi-family, student housing, and commercial properties. ​Scott graduated with a BS in Accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and California State University, Northridge. He is a CPA and alumnus of Deloitte and Touche.

Stephen Margolin

Steve has over 40 years of experience in real estate finance, development and investment. Steve served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Weyerhaeuser Realty Investors for eight years. In that capacity, he provided overall direction for the company and was the Chairman of its investment committee. Under his management the company grew from approximately $200 million of assets under management to nearly $4 billion on behalf of institutional, international and family office investors.
