We recognise the importance of social connections for a good quality of life. Consequently, we offer 1-to-1 befriending for people with a learning disability or autism. This involves matching the person we support with an adult volunteer befriender. The befriender will then accompany the person to activities, clubs, and events in their local community, where they can make social connections...
We provide support for people aged 16 and over and work across 10 local authority areas: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scottish Borders, Renfrewshire, North Lanarkshire, Perthshire, East Ayrshire, North Ayrshire, South Ayrshire...
Thera was first set up in 1998. We have grown from supporting 5 people in Cambridgeshire to providing a range of support across the UK for around 3000 people with a learning disability.
