Andrew Zachary

Andrew Zachary directs all research, modeling and investment activities. Dr. Zachary began his financial career at Long-Term Capital Management, where he built all of the firm's interest rate and equity volatility models, as well as many of their equity models. He has since modeled and profitably traded most major asset classes, including equities, interest rate swaps, interest rate futures, equity options, and commodity futures in high-, medium- and low-frequency regimes. More recently, Dr. Zachary worked at SparkCognition, a machine learning and AI firm building quant models for asset managers and internal trading groups and 97 West Capital trading in the energy futures market. Before he began working in finance, Dr. Zachary was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Chicago, and a consultant at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Dr. Zachary holds a Ph.D. in Astronomy and Astrophysics from the UC Berkeley and an A.B., magna cum laude, also in Astronomy and Astrophysics, from Harvard.

Dustin D. Trammell

Dustin D. Trammell is a founding principal partner at 8Fold. From the time of the concept of digital currencies when Bitcoin (BTC) was just a whitepaper, Dustin understood its potential value both as a technology and for creation of wealth. Prior to its launch, Dustin engaged in design and debugging with the legendary Satoshi Nakamoto and later became one of the first miners in history. In the ensuing 12 years, he has become an advocate for digital assets and an active investor in Blockchain and digital asset startups. Dustin was among the first to employ algorithms to systematically trade 24/7, taking advantage of market volatility and protecting downside.

Martin Dengler

Martin Dengler has responsibility over software development at 8Fold. Martin learned about stocks and options from his father's AMEX seat, and pursued a career in developing quantitative trading systems. Martin was an Executive Director at KBC AIM in London, a $5.5 billion alternative investment manager, where he led trading technology development. From there, he went on to leadership roles in quantitative development at J.P. Morgan, Teza Technologies and WorldQuant. Martin ran cross-border software development teams JP Morgan and Credit Suisse in New York and London. He also developed python trading systems and research pipelines for multi-billion-dollar equity and credit derivatives hedge funds Decura, Teza Technologies, and WorldQuant in London, New York, and Austin. Martin holds a B.A. in Computer Science from Dartmouth College, has committed code to One Laptop Per Child / Sugarlabs and the Java Development Kit.

Umran A. Zia

Umran A. Zia has responsibility over business development and client relations. Prior to joining 8Fold, Umran was the Chief Executive Officer of Centurion Investment Management, a short-term/intra-day fully systematic global macro hedge fund specializing in 58 futures markets (equity indexes, fixed income, foreign exchange (FX) and commodities) utilizing 200+ independent strategies. Umran sourced, located and raised $1.2 Billion from 50+ different global investors including fund of funds, family offices, insurance companies, pension funds and large banks. This includes eight separate seeding deals for a managed account platform, onshore fund, offshore fund and 40 Act mutual funds. Prior to CIM, Umran was the Managing Director and Head of Global Foreign Exchange Prime Brokerage at Bank of America Merrill Lynch from 2000-2010. Umran was recruited by Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) in January 2000 to build and manage the FXPB product. Prior to joining BAML, he was the head of FX Prime Brokerage business at ABN AMRO bank from 1997-2000. He was the driving force and originator for building of the first formal FXPB business at Barclays Bank PLC in 1995. In 2009, FXPB at BAML cleared over $6 Trillion in spot, forward and options. The 25 people in the group produced over $250 Million in revenue. Umran sat on the bank's FX executive and operating committees.
