GIS CORP

In 2011 Rex Companies was an exclusive, independent distribution partner of the Swiss company GIS AG focused on the needs of customers in the USA. In order to facilitate a laser-like focus on the American market, the subsidiary GIS Corporation was founded in 2022. It is located at the same site in Newport News as Rex companies... GIS AG is a Swiss company with around 130 employees, which was founded in 1957. The production and development site is in Schötz, Canton of Lucerne... In 1957 GIS AG was founded by the brothers Alex and Beda Iseli. Electric chain hoists and complete crane systems have been manufactured and developed in Schötz since 1963. In 1966, the subsidiary GIS GmbH was founded in Germany, followed by the purchase of the UK distributor LTM in 2018. In 2022 GIS Corporation in the U.S. was established.
