Andrew Olson, MPP, is a health policy specialist and experienced project leader. In his role with AI Health, he helps develop demonstration projects and other initiatives that address or inform critical health policy issues, and facilitates the translation of health data science discoveries to a policy audience. Prior to joining AI Health, he worked as a Project Leader for initiatives with the Duke Clinical Research Institute and the Margolis Center for Health Policy, specializing in analyses related to end-of-life care, payment and delivery reforms, and state health policy reforms. Before coming to Duke, he served as a public sector management consultant on engagements with state Medicaid and Health and Human Services agencies. He is a graduate of the Duke Sanford School's Master of Public Policy program with a concentration in health policy, and received a degree in English from the University of Michigan.

Ben Goldstein is the Director of Data Science for Duke AI Health. He is an Associate Professor of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics with secondary appointments in the Departments of Pediatrics, Population Health Sciences and Duke Clinical Research Institute. His research is on the meaningful use of electronic health records data for predictive modeling and causal inference and has been funded by the NIH, FDA, CDC, industry partners and the Duke Health System. Dr. Goldstein has a particular interest in understanding biases associated with EHR data and how they can impact analyses. A health data scientist, his work sits at the intersection of biostatistics, biomedical informatics, machine learning, epidemiology and implementation science. He has a particular interest in using EHR data for personalized decision making, promoting the Leaning HealthCare System. Dr. Goldstein works closely with the Duke University Health System (DUHS). He serves as the Associate Chief Data Scientist for DUHS and as the co-chair of the Algorithm Based Clinical Decision Support (ABCDS) evaluation subcommittee. Dr. Goldstein received his PhD in Biostatistics and MPH in Epidemiology/Biostatistics from UC Berkeley and his BA in Psychology from Wesleyan University.

In November 2021, Jessica joined CTSI (Clinical and Translational Science Institute), providing invaluable support to the Duke Center for Health Informatics. She played a pivotal role in facilitating informatics research seminars, overseeing the institute's website, and managing the informatics degree programs. Recently, Jessica has expanded her responsibilities by taking on key roles within CTSI's Clinical Data Research Network (CDRN) team and Duke AI Health. In this capacity, her duties include maintenance of active and upcoming contracts and grants, project planning, overseeing the content management for the monthly newsletter, and collaborating with both the Health Data Science Fellowship program and the CDRN Oversight Committee.

Jonathan McCall, MS, is director of communications for Duke AI Health. Before joining AI Health, Mr. McCall worked for the Duke Clinical Research Institute for two decades, first as a clinical data specialist and later as a science writer and editor. While at the DCRI, he also oversaw communications efforts for the NIH Health Care Systems Research Collaboratory and developed the first edition of the Collaboratory's online "Living Textbook," Rethinking Clinical Trials. From 2015 to early 2017, Mr. McCall worked as a contractor for the US Food and Drug Administration, where he helped support scientific communications efforts for FDA Commissioner Robert Califf, MD. Mr. McCall has a BA in English Literature from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MS in Technical Communication from North Carolina State University.

Maciej Mazurowski, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Radiology, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Duke University, and is serving as the director of radiology imaging at Duke AI Health. He is also the Scientific Director of the Duke Center for Artificial Intelligence in Radiology, with a research focus on the development of machine learning algorithms and their application in medical imaging. His lab at Duke works on a wide range of applications, including breast cancer, brain cancer, thyroid cancer, musculoskeletal imaging and others. The lab's technical work in algorithm development and evaluation includes 3D pyramid pooling in convolutional neural networks, style transfer for image harmonization, and class imbalance in deep learning.

Marcella C. Dalrymple serves as the associate director of strategic development and business partnerships for AI Health. Her priorities include expanding Duke AI Health's reach to the broader Duke community and beyond. She is committed to AI Health's mission of cultivating ethical and equitable data science and aims to simplify the research start-up phase, grow partnerships with industry, and improve collaboration across Duke departments and therapeutic areas. Marcella is returning to Duke after receiving her MBA from UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business school and participating in a commercial leadership development program at AstraZeneca. She also has an MPH from the Brody School of Medicine at ECU.

Michael Cary, PhD, RN, is the Elizabeth C. Clipp Term Chair of Nursing at the Duke University School of Nursing, and was appointed as the inaugural AI Health Equity Scholar in January 2022. His work leverages complex biomedical and healthcare datasets and innovative data science approaches in order to identify risk factors that contribute to functional decline and rehospitalization among older adults, primarily older African Americans, who are at risk for disability. In February of 2021, Dr. Cary's work was formally recognized when he was named a recipient of the Raymond Gavins Distinguished Faculty Award conferred by the Samuel DuBois Cook Society, which recognizes, celebrates, and affirms the presence of African American students, faculty, and staff at Duke University.

Richard P. Shannon, MD serves as the Senior Vice President, Chief Medical Officer, and Chief Quality Officer for Duke Health.
Shannon received his BA from Princeton University and his MD from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. He completed his training in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital, his cardiovascular training at Massachusetts General Hospital, and was the Francis Weld Peabody Fellow and Associate Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School before becoming the Claude R.
