K-8 education at Pharos is all about high expectations and high engagement. We believe that education should spark curiosity and inspire young people to show up and contribute in positive ways... In 2005, Pharos Academy Charter School opened our doors in Community District 12 in the Bronx under the name Bronx Lighthouse Charter School. We began with the a commitment to our founding scholars to be a small school that casts a huge beacon of light and achievement in one of the lowest-performing school districts in New York City.
