Job Titles:
  • about Attorney
At Goodwin Law & Mediation, we strive to fill an important niche in North Carolina legal services. Attorney Raymond Goodwin has a significant body of legal experience and a wealth of knowledge that he brings to the table to develop personalized solutions for a range of legal issues. After graduating from The John Marshall Law School in 1994, Raymond Goodwin became licensed to practice law in both Minnesota and North Carolina. He served as senior counsel at an S&P 500 global organization for more than 17 years and has worked in private practice for eight years. During this time, he has learned to handle a variety of business legal issues and negotiate settlements that serve his clients. Over the span of his career, he has participated in hundreds of mediations and settlement conferences. Raymond Goodwin brings a unique perspective to his clients' legal issues and concerns. As he built his career in law, he realized that the legal system is oftentimes more adversarial than necessary, pitting people against each other even though many issues can be resolved in a way that's mutually beneficial for both sides. Rather than dragging clients through expensive and time-consuming court battles that drain a family's or company's finances, wherever possible he tries to keep his clients' legal issues from reaching the courtroom. He applies mediation and collaborative law principles to both the commercial/civil and family law sides of his practice. Raymond and his wife have four children in their blended family, and he understands the fears and challenges that divorcing couples face.
